Please refer to this.

1. Early Termination Fee - If you terminate your contract before the end of the contract’s term | Total sum of monthly charges for the remaining contract period

2. Termination Fee (includes ONT collection if applicable. Customers who do not have to pay this fee will have to return the ONT at their own cost) | Only for Residential customers on No Contract and Business customers who have subscribed for less than 2 years

Cannot downgrade but you can terminate with a fee (disconnection fee as stated in their TnCs).

Your post is quite misleading which I believe you meant the above condition applies to within contract period (which also applies to all ISP if you tend to downgrade or terminate within contract terms)
ONT is rental. = all ISP same as they collect back. Deliver back to MR = no fee requires as no staff deployed to collect it back.

So I signed up for a re-contract for that approx. $50/mth plan for 1Gbps Fiber with MR.

The signup page mentioned that a staff would be getting back to me with regards to the installation date. After not getting a response from anyone from MR, I decided to leave a message on 28 Jan in the afternoon at 1549H.

The message was replied at 2 nights later at 2323H, and that support guy gave me the impression that he had no clue what I was talking about. So I provided him with my customer ID and information that I had re-contracted.

The next response from the same guy was on 4 Feb and my installation date is mid-April IF I signed up now. This time around, the reply was at 0101H.

Now, I totally understand that there are others grabbing this promotion and that your staff are working late to provide a response.

But a response that is not relevant...is he even bothering to read my reply at all?

People in this forum who signed up one day later are getting text messages informing them of installation dates.

And me? Nothing. Why? :s11:
We will only start responding when it's near late feb =).

Sorry for the miscomm and thank you for your corrective action. Yes this is what I mean. However, today I just found out from online chat that once the application is submitted, any cancellation of signup would be subjected to a fee of $48++. I asked the CSO on duty-Norita, she confirmed this point during the online chat. I asked this because I worried that the installation date was way too long by the time the sales team got back to me. It can be waived on a case by case basis. If I sign up now, even though I just had my tp newly installed, I still gotta wait till earliest April installation. :-(

Lawzer posted somewhere here that cancellation before a date provided will have no charges.
If you wait till they arranged and call you.. there might be as arrangment should have been made.

Jerry, that was what I thought so too. But today before I submit my application, I just wanna double check on this as it seems to be the application form is a contract. I did not misquote the CSO as these words (especially the word "application") were the actual words she used. Anyway, in the roadshow, the crews were telling me different things. I dun wish to mention here to cause more confusion since they were not telling me the facts but they indeed have confused me alot.

I would rather trust the words from Lawrence than the CSO.

Did you receive any confirmation email from MR?

Don't recall already.

Now you are making me paranoid.

OK WAIT!

Have have. on 14 January 2014. Phew. I thought I deleted it.

But it says new order. Shouldn't it reflect as re-contract in the subject? or anywhere in the email?

Hi all,

i using direct connection from Router to my PC, so does the model of the router matter if I were to upgrade to 1GB? Right now i using ESR600H. Good enough?

Also, I suppose if my contract with MR is up this May actually, so should I register my interest now to upgrade or should I wait till contract expire than call in?

The challenge is the 1Gbps installation may schedule till a few months later if you only call in when your contract expired in May.

But i try to sign online, it says there is a one time charge for signing up for upgrade while still on contract?

Theres a one time charges for upgrading, meaning you upgrading your plan while your contract term not end yet.

You might want to call up as some gets to waive off due to previous **free mths balance.

Its better for existing cust to call direct to office to check on the status of upgrading.

Take note upgrading theres fee incurred, re contract no fee and free first mth sub.

**Lawzer did mention something about the 10k sign up not affecting interested existing customer but should be within promo period.(I think promo for recontract ending) Contact office to be sure.

I double, triple , quad triple confirm that there won't be any fee or charges for rejecting the installation when the CSO start calling people in late Feb and asking for installation date. You may reject the installation any time before confirming a date of installation. * wink*
