I'm interested to know a little bit more about the network upgrade MR is doing in preparation for the influx of the 1gbps plan subscribers (myself included). Anyone know or have any idea what is going on in the backend?

They're becoming an OpCo. Put very simply, this means they're putting in routers and OLTs at several SingTel exchanges (which is where OpenNet's fibres terminate) so they can route traffic for their customers to their Internet uplinks. They will also be renegotiating rates and bandwidth from their transit providers in order to cater to the additional anticipated load. And then tying it all into a prioritisation system, billing, etc. A lot of work.

More on what's involved: Passive optical network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Think it is funny that you will pay $200 to get someone out of the contract but you won't waive $58 installation to sign up a customer currently out of contract but with another provider.

Good luck with this promo, I hope it brings down prices at my provider.

Such a shame that you cannot fulfil orders until April.

It depends how you view it as in would you rather get the $58 installation waived off without the $200 or $200 to offset the existing contract termination but pay a $58 installation.

I assumed you are on VQ.

Just wondering if I have received the New Order Application email, does that means my application is already in the system?

Given that the first round of installation will start in March, is installation priority given to existing MR users out of contract or is it randomly allocated between new and existing MR users.

Seeing that many users aren't sure if their application is already in MR's system, if would be nice if there was a feature to check by entering the applicant's email address..

ADAPTOR FOR ASUS ROUTER WITH SIGN UP

MR

Please consider providing the adaptors for the routers in the package for a small cost or no cost would be better. Since you have tied up with ASUS, this should not be an issue. TQ. :)

I noticed that MR website do not offer any of the slower fibre broadband packages anymore for home users - only the 1Gbps is available. Does this mean MR has scrapped all slower plans (for new signup)?

Need some checks with MR representative in hwz :)
I submitted my applications and documents. With Address A.
Prior to actual OpenNet or MR installation schedule, I like to change to address B, need fee? Since installation not done yet.

Not sure what is the arrangement when my Pure 100M contract expired ? Assuming i have no option but to upgrade, how can the process be seamless without having to suffer a downtime ?

There is 300Mbps, but for 10 dollar more u get 3 times the speed. :)
It much more worth it in long run.

Your reply is quite misleading as you are stating that there are only either Ultra 1Gbps or Gamer 1Gbps plans whereby there is actually still a 300Mbps plan.

To be exact, it will be $240 more for a 2 years contract and not just $10 more.
