Just to share, residential fibre bb in sg is shared speed and not dedicated speed. If dedicated speed it will be very expensive commercial plan. Even in HK (world fastest internet city), they are also using shared speed for condo.

Hi Myrepublic, i'm puzzled and frustrated by the CS. I'm one of the first few who signed up when you went into business a few years ago. When you launched this 1Gpbs, i'm one of the few who signed up online within 2-3 hours. When you emailed me that i was in the Beta plan, i was pleased, knowing that Myrepublic treasures its existing pool of pioneer customers. Yes i was pleased.. until i received a news that i had been rescheduled until further notice. What really fume me is, my friend, recommended by me and signed up 1.5 months later than me for this 1Gpbs, actually is on schedule and will receive his installation on 2 Apr...
My account is C1000103. Can give me a call and explain........

Your friend installation is MR going down or opennet? If opennet, your friend may also kena the same thing like me I.e receiving a SMS and email one day before they come down. Then whole process is delay till further notice.

Hi jimbo73, believe that opennet might have some issue hence MR couldnt proceed with installation for you.

I did some twitch to my lappy setup since yesterday and this was the result I am getting. Still terrible speed. Definitely the signal from MR to mine is something wrong?!!

Till now, 2 calls make to MR, no engineer reply. Weekend is their off day issit?? It Weekend is the only time I am at home to go through all issues once and for all. Always standard reply from the MR CS.

My Observation (Before, 150Mbps plan give me no complain.)

Mobile games server cannot be connected using wifi
Intermittent disconnection from the internet
Mobile facebook very veery laggy
websites like telegraph.co.uk unable to load smoothly, tao bao laggy, tvb.com laggy.

for those who have just upgraded or reconstructed and had your service installed...

please remember that this is in beta... and you choose to be in it...

so please give constructive feedback and not complains....

remember its beta, and you asked to be in it yourself...

Actually not everyone asked to be in this beta, some were shocked and even complained to the media - The truth behind MyRepublic over promising 1Gbps Fibernet plans | The Real Singapore

Anyhow MyRepublic said the beta will only last 1 week, and that 1 week is over.

But in reality, looking at the problems surfacing, it is more like a alpha test than a beta.

Looks like the beta will be extended.. or maybe they do mean the beta will be only last another 1 more week after the last beta users has been installed. Just from the online feedback alone, you can gather the failure rate of installation with issues arising from either MR or opennet is staggering. It really makes one think if MR as an opco has the access to the right resources and support from all partners to make things happens a not.

Hmm... Okay I wanna clarify a number of things about beta here.

Beta
We never specified a beta test "period", and as we explained our beta "test" is similar to, say, a game beta test where the product is unfinished. Our 1Gbps is ready to roll out, but we gave a number of people access to it earlier because we wanted a group to gather feedback from. You can those we've invited or expressed interest in beta.

This also means that at no point in our 1Gbps rollout will you hear us go, "Sorry guys this is beta bear with us". Anyone who tells you that isn't speaking on behalf of MyRepublic.

Thing is - in any network or product rollout there may be teething issues. We started the beta so that we can have a specific group of people who can help identify them.

Installation Issues
The actual number of installation issues (I'm going to lump everything together here, like FTO, fibre resource issues, splitter top-up, OpenNet appointment no-show etc) is actually just a fraction of our total number of installations.

This doesn't mean, however, that we don't care. We treat every single of these cases with the utmost urgency. We're actively looking into every case that might have one issue or another. Sometimes these things take time, so we do ask for everyone's patience.

MyRepublic Communication
Nivlek and I (and others) are still here posting on the forums, gathering feedback, troubleshooting cases is because MyRepublic believes that no matter how large we grow or what products we launch, communication and transparency is important. So if you have feedback - positive or negative - continue to post here here or via DM. We do appreciate it, and use it to constantly improve.

You all really need to improve your communication; you just contradicted your own VP Greg Mittman who announced the 1 week only beta here - Greg Mittman, VP of MyRepublic, responds to TRS reader's complaint | The Real Singapore:

1. Can you clarify what you mean by never specified a beta test "period"? I remembered that one of MR staffs mentioned that the beta test/phase lasts for a week.

2. "... just a fraction of our total number of installations" - I believe that this is not just a fraction of the total number installations as there are many cases of installation date being postponed to further notice.

3. "Nivlek and I (and others) are still here posting on the forums ..." - I highly doubt that just 2 MR staffs are sufficient to support the increasing customer base as it has been seen that some customers are not getting any responses from both the forum and the so-called 24/7 customer technical support hotline.

Hi MyRepublic.
Your customer care claimed to have called me to set the installation date.
They even claimed they messaged me saying I was unavailable.

However, I didn't get a call or the message.
My account is C1000066.

Please contact me asap thank you.

If you go to the very first post it is stated clearly "MEGA LAUNCH" so how can it be a beta. I dare not sign up my order as there are no immediate confirm date of installation upon signing up and it meant isp can install at any date. I also highlight my point in my earlier post.

wow pentium D and 704MB ram, old com! maybe you can state whether your desktop network adapter can support 1Gbps link, and the router used too.
