Not sure if the CSO mention. We do tell customer that fiber top up for area takes about 3-4weeks which is about 20 working days.

OpenNet can be rather slow such as taking up to 1 week to file an application to it's internal department to search for a manhole and another 3weeks to search for that hole.

but they take damn fast to search for other type of holes.

Therefore, could we get an assurance that Myrepublic will completed the installation within 3-4 weeks?

And what if Opennet or Myrepublic fail to deliver?

It is unreasonable for us to be waiting forever.

its more like OpenNet unable to deliver.

So ?!?
Did we sign a contract with OpenNet or Myrepublic ?

We are stuck with Myrepublic on a contract with a termination penalty, with an unconfirmed installation date in the future.

MR should just release customers that are affected, without penalty.

if the same customer goes to other ISP, he/she will still get that "delay". Its opennet deyyy... OK, probably they get better response from Singtel, Starhub as they are government owned (just like OpenNet). Correct me if I am wrong, OpenNet is now owned by ST, am I right ? sign with ST and you'll get your services up and running super fast.

COMPETITION bro., they are trying to create problems for MR :)

Before we confirm a day. Customer can terminate the line without penalty.

During the period of confirmation to date of installation. Customer is liable for any cancelation by OpenNet.

If OpenNet found out there's a problem with that area. They will CANCEL the appointment. At which customer is allowed to cancel the sign up before OpenNet fix it and resume the agreement.

Lets be clear.

So is the statement below consider to be a "problem with that area" ?

"OpenNet does not have sufficient resources on the fibre infrastructure backend to support the capacity of MyRepublic's new 1Gbps"

Sidetrack and Quoting IDA,

“There is no disagreement between OpenNet and the IDA on this point. The IDA is aware of this issue and has required OpenNet to take steps to improve its performance. OpenNet has introduced Fibre Takeover processes to address the situation and is looking to enhance the process to make the handover between operators more seamless.

“On the other hand, it is also the responsibility of any telecoms service provider, including MyRepublic, to make sure the necessary resources to enable the new services are properly secured before their launch,” he added.

Yes if OpenNet do not have the resources. That's consider as having issue with that area.

We have enough manpower to do installation, mountains of routers and mountain of ONT devices. Only resource missing is OpenNet's approval.

Didn't had time to go through the pages since my last post but just to make it short and sweet.

1) I can confirm that the MTU mismatch issue does exist. My sweetspot is 1472 and everything will work but otherwise the net goes all wonky.

2) AC68U does have this issue where the speed gets cut down to a max of 300mbps for no apparent reason, similar to the finding of one of the user; I found out that I cannot do any Lan Custom IP Pool Address allocation otherwise my speed keeps cutting cut randomly.

Only factory reset can fix the issue and so I have refrain from doing too much to the AC68U, however I do have Custom SSID for wireless and everything is ok so far.

Speedtest done while writing my post.

Hi Binaries,

1. If you have a NAS that needs access to the Internet (for backup for example) you may also need to change its MTU as well. Also, MTU may differ for each person

2. My Ac66U is also affected by this 300mbps cap. Can I export my settings , do a factory reset and restore my profiles back?

Also, will the cap bug come back again after a short while of usage? (It seems it came back for me after some usage of flashing to Merlin firmware a few days back )

One thing I read about MTU fragmented issue is that since packets are sent thru the Internet default by 1500. Any packets that are sent or received if MTU is set to a lower value will have to be broken up by sending 14XX and then the balance in another packet. May cause delay as need to send twice etc

Any of you facing this problem with Whatsapp? MR 1Gbps.

Boltersdriveer, Johnny, Solomon, uploading of pictures are not working on Whatsapp, I believe this is a chronic problem faced by alot of others.

In addition, text messages (no pictures) are not sent to the server too, will be stuck in the TX buffer until I switch back to 4G.

Please fix this asap, sounds like a port issue with your backend.

Just a few sanity checks:

1. Is your NIC gigabit compatible?
2. Is your cable at least CAT5 certified?
3. Are you running AVAST or some antivirus that scans your network traffic?

Lets see if we can narrow down the problem ...

hi i am new to Fibre and just got installation yesterday.

I noticed that the alcatel-lucent termination box has extra LAN ports behind. Is it a hub or something that we can connect other devices to it or are we only able to use just 1 port to uplink to the router instead?

because i was thinking of putting my router at another place and connecting my other devices like PS3 to the ONT ports

1. Yes, it's gigabit, connected at 1gb.
2. Tested using cat5e and cat6 cables, both gave similar results.
3. Nope, antivirus was turned off during testing
