ported out of Giga into MyRepublic $10 plan (6 GB). I've received the MyRepublic SIM but haven't used it because the number hasn't been ported over yet. Will report feedback to this thread once I've got it working. My hunch is that performance won't be that different, since both Giga and MyRepublic use the StarHub network.

You will get a huge difference when using voice call since MyRepublic has VOLTE. Giga doesn't!
On the other hand, TPG is great too (if you don't use it underground)

hows the manage speed now? last 2 yrs when i was in it, it was damn slow.. like 384kbps.. cant even surf net..

is it still that bad?

I am looking to take up MR current $10 promo. Before that I would like to confirm if I am able to receive sms when overseas without signing up for any auto roaming services. I am able to do that with Starhub and Singtel. This is just in case I need to do some online transaction and need sms verification.

Anyone that is on MR plan but did not signup for any extra auto roaming service able to verify?

Old mr is using starhub. New one using m1.

Ues free roaming service. But for data roaming u need to buy their plan before you get connected to data.

You will still be able to recieve sms free. But calling and sending sms is at roaming rate.

MyRepublic switched to M1 network? I know they are using Starhub network which is quite bad previously. If they are using M1, then it's good news, since it supports volte now, just like circles.
