A debt is a debt. While they cannot bankrupt you, they can make your life difficult by serving you a writ.

Unless you tell me you are unemployed, have no properties, etc, the better course of action would be to pay up. Don’t let a few thousand dollars affect your life.

Actually nothing will happen. They lan lan, maybe hire debt collection company to collect. The most they keep charge 275 interest fee per annum.

Last time my frz owe m1 $500, untill now Haven pay. M1 keep chasing also lan lan. Seem give up

$500 maybe some companies will not pursue because the lawyer will charge at least $500. But $5000 surely worth pursuing and when they do, you will likely pay their lawyer’s fees too.

Or you can negotiate down to say $3k. Ask them for some leeway, tell them if they insist, is bad publicity for them etc. They might just give chance and take the $3k.

Is it a given that TS has to bear the full 5k without consideration for the actual costs of the repair? Maybe he has to pay the 5k upfront but will get refund for the unutilized balance (if any) after everything has been settled?

From my experience in society, high chance they wun reduce their excess to 3k. Else everyone will be demanding to reduce. Installment I think appropriate

Reminds me of HSBC anyhow charge me $5 for fund transfer admin fee. I din pay them the $5 which I didn't use. Chase me for 20 years. Now snowball to $15. Hahaha. They can chase me another 60 years to 150. Maybe that time I passed away.

HSBC really refused to give up. My credit report to banks is good. Uob, dbs still loan me money up to few hundred k.

Sorry. If interested damage car photo click and see .
The whole front bottom deformed....can see clearly.
The T&Cs states "the Member shall pay to BlueSG the applicable Excess"...never say can pro-rate according to repair cost.....so I think U LL have to pay.

Wah bro that's definitely not "a dent", you went head in and hit the kerb didn't you.

This one is LL already, they have every reason to claim the full $5k from you.

Honestly, you can try to get MP to write letter to ask them to allow you to pay by installment.
Otherwise, just borrow from siblings or relatives and pay off. $5k not really a big problem, 1 year can pay back liao.

All the best!

Whatever it is - a dent, a deformity, or a dimple - it is a “damage” within the definition of BlueSG.
