hi thanks for your advice..

i dont qualify for AHG as my application doesnt fall under the typical family nucleus. my income is lower than the $5000 limit, so im thinking of appealing as based on my cpf alone, i will not be able to pay the 10% downpayment. i approached my MP once but he told me that i have to select a flat first before he can write me an appeal for the AHG. if the form for AHG is given to me on the day of the selection, i can look for my MP again and the application and appeal for AHG can occur concurrently.. im just worried that the hdb people wont even give me the chance to appeal..
You can either call HDB sales or e-mail them to get a copy of the AHG before the appt, only dont fill out the address until u got the unit u want.

From experience, you can appeal almost anything with HDB, they are not inflexible. Although, once in a while u will run into a real bunghole who is bent on giving u a hard time....but then this is rare.

Selection appointment anxiety

We know from the forum CCK and Bedok selections are out. Assuming these actually start on 2 Jan, I am guessing both CCK and Bedok appointments will also start then, factoring in the 14 day notification that HDB is committed for that period. Which goes to say also that ALL flat types are handled on any day, simply because they need to fill the ethnicity quotas for each block and all flat types. For early Jan, CCK first then Bedok will be lump in the mix. So, on any one day, you have a myriad people for different BTOs and different flat types,

For eg there are 4 flat types, and HDB manages 30 appointments a day, based on some non-sophisticated math, that means 7 +/- are handled every day for each flat type. Assume, one officer per BTO. Seems like they work 7 days a week for the selection, if u are 100 then u are abt 14+/- days away. Linearly extrapolated to the larger q numbers.

This assumes, some constants and some linearity. As u know dealing with such things, things cant be assumed, For eg, someone said, they may start slow and pick up pace as u go higher in numbers, or when BTOs are done frees up more staff to clear the case loads. The constants and linearity assumes a worse case scenario for the larger numbers and accuracy of current data (eg 30 appts per day).

Some food for thought.....<sigh>

Seems like a lot of people got double digit for ghim moh.. im one of the more suay one. Got 11x... I have a tight budget, 350k inclusive of the price of the unit, stamp fees etc..

Based on my budget, I can only settle for low floor of those facing the park connector, or mid floor of those facing mrt. What about you?

Are you applying as 2nd timer? I haven't decide on the actual stack yet, I think your budget is enough, can buy around 7-8th floor!

that's actually quite an accurate observation.
I know of one in the 50s and mine is a 11x, my selection date is 2 weeks away from his.

That's a great data point. Your friend in the q number 5x should be around the 7th or 8th day from the start date, assume Jan 2 or earlier. And you are about 14 +/-, with q number 11x, based on the simplistic model of extrapolating the selection appointment date.

Can someone else provide some data points eg q no: #1-7 for eg, so we know the actual start date. Some notification letters say start is Jan 2013 and I am thinking some probably got letters for end of Dec 2013 starts ?

Appreciate the kind sharing.

Apologies, are u and your friend for the same flat type in the SAME BTO?

If the 5x is for something different from your 11x flat type, then this simplistic model wont hold.

But, if you case is for same flat type in same BTO, that means, there was an assumption that I didn't take into account that since there are 5 BTOs running at the same time too, they might actually take a slower pace in the beginning, ie q no 1 to 1xx or so, like someone else, I think it was Noel13, indicated earlier. Or the 30 appts/day assumption maybe wrong in the beginning (initial) batches, which means they do about 1/2 maybe 15 +/-, and for each flat type in each BTO maybe 3-4 appts, then your 2 week difference from 5x to 11x will hold true.

If it is mid Jan for 5x, and if they started Jan 2, and mid Jan is about 2 weeks from then and 11x is about 50+ q numbers a way which is 2 weeks after 5x, then it is reasonable that they are running slow and a good assumption, this is what is happening.

Based on this data, which is only valid for CCK and Bedok, and esp those who have not heard or got any selection dates, that means their BTO selection start dates may have been push out a little and should have their dates later than 5x and 11x......yet another assumption....!!

Till we have some more good data points, then we can make a good estimate of when our appts should be.

Thx for the heads up....

Hey guys

Ghim moh edge 3 room and appointment early march.
If u dont mind my asking, as I am interested in this data point, so we can make a good guess when all our appts will be:

1. Was this an official notice from HDB, viz, Ghim Moh Edge 3 rm start early March, on the ballot notification ?
2. Or a phone call or e-mail to HDB sales ?
3. Or the Ghim Moh edge selection appts are out ?

If this is the case, each BTO is released some time later as they clear the earlier BTOs first. But, all else being equal, based on difference between q# 1 and 50 is a 2 week lead from the start of each BTO selection appointment.

Thx for the kind input.

I don't seems to find anything on the MyHDB that shows when is the appoint dates for the selections - Could you give more steps to see them?

Another good data point. 36x and appt in March. It seems that they schedule as if they do 100 a month. As the q numbers get higher, the drop out rate will increase significantly as flats are getting sold out. So, we can make some good guesses, that someone between 1-100+ in Jan, 100+-200+ in Feb and so on and so forth. After about 200+ I think the drop out ratio will be higher as they start to schedule more numbers after this kicks in. IMHO.
