16 mar @ 1130am with Q 5xx. 3 days after your q no. Something good to know and happy hunting for our future home!
TPY's selection appt, see how fast it accelerates ? Mar 13 4xx and Mar 16 5xx. We can conclude that the high numbers will always see this fast accelerations as they factor in a higher dropout ratio. Notice also they also start giving out XX:45 appt times, possibly 15 minute appointment windows vs the 1/2 hour window in the beginning.

Makes sense, esp u are the top 50% of the 4 roomers. As you get closer to things being sold out, drop outs will be a-plenty. That is why there is abt a 2 week lag before the 4xx starts. Not too much to worry, u can still probably get what you want or at the very least get your 2nd or 3rd choice units.

I have question to ask urgently.. Lets say we have ballot for a flat under Married Child Scheme and his parents has discussed of separation/divorcing buying their own house once we get our house.. What will happen to our house huh? I read on the hdb website that near parents cannot shift within next 5 years upon possession of flat.. What if they choose to sell this house and get their own house?

Called Hdb but its PH no staff to help me.. Anyone has similar situation?

Without understanding completely as to what u are trying to achieve, below are the HDB rules. Maybe u can start here....

Divorcees

Within five years from the date of the divorce, only one party in the divorce can own one of the following housing units:
a flat bought directly from the HDB
a DBSS flat / EC bought directly from a private developer
a resale flat bought from open market under the CPF Housing Grant Scheme

If you have an existing matrimonial home, which is one of the above, and that home is retained by your ex-spouse, you may apply to buy or be listed as an essential occupier in any of the above housing unit only five years after your date of divorce.

However, this five-year wait out period will not apply if you are buying any of the above homes with your parents or a new spouse, or if you are buying a resale flat from the open market without the CPF Housing Grant.

If there is no matrimonial home or the matrimonial home was bought from the open market without any CPF Housing Grant, you may apply for any of the above housing units after you get your ex-spouse's consent not to own or be listed as an essential occupier in any of the above housing units within the five-year period from the date of divorce.

The requirement for ex-spouse's consent is waived if you are buying any of the above housing units with your parents or a new spouse or if you are buying a resale flat from the open market without the CPF Housing Grant.

With effect from 5 March 2012, the requirement to seek ex-spouse's consent during the five-year period from the date of divorce is also waived if you meet the following conditions:
All your children are below 16 years old at the date of divorce; and
You have the legal custody of all your children and are also the only parent with the care and control of all your children.

ARE YOU TRYING TO FIND A GET AROUND OR BEAT THIS RULE ?

5-Year Occupation Period

If you book an apartment under the MCPS (near parents/married child), your parents or married child have to live in the same estate or within two kilometres from the flat for a period of five years. This period of five years starts from the date of your taking possession of the new flat.

If you book an apartment under the MCPS (with parents/married child), your parents or married child have to live in the same flat for a period of five years. This period of five years starts from the date of your taking possession of the new flat.

Trying hard

Hi everyone, congrats to all who have gotten a good queue no. for gm! We have been trying to ballot for bto as first timers for the 4th time. :( However, luck hasn't been on our side. This time, our queue no. is 6xx (exceeded by a bit) and were given an appt date in late mar. We were wondering if there will be any chance for us to select a flat (like is there usually drop outs for matured estate)?

I think they can sell the exsisting house but likely one have them still have to buy a flat within 2km of your estate or at least within the same zone.

Are you a Chinese?

If you are Chinese you should worried more about ethnic group than drop out.

But should have but maybe low floor.

maybe around 20% of the applicants will dropout? you may have chance to select but like what noel13 has said earlier, maybe left with low floor units.

You can either call HDB sales or e-mail them to get a copy of the AHG before the appt, only dont fill out the address until u got the unit u want.

From experience, you can appeal almost anything with HDB, they are not inflexible. Although, once in a while u will run into a real bunghole who is bent on giving u a hard time....but then this is rare.

oic thanks.. i actually emailed them for a softcopy of AHG forms.. so that i can fill the forms up first, get an appeal letter from my MP, and submitted them altogether when i go for my flat selection.. hope i can get the grant, otherwise it will be very tough on me financially to foot the 10% downpayment..
