hi, i tried appealing last year.
on the page itself, you will have to choose the course (one course) you're appealing for, then a box for you to type whatever you want. if i remember correctly, for ntu, the appeal box is for 500 characters (yes, characters, including spaces). however, i cannot be sure at all. i don't think the space requirements matter that much, just prepare a longer essay, then cut down when the limit is reached.
It may seems little to all of us here but this 50 words can change your future. Do consider and prepare it. You got till 7 June to submit.
For those who had already done it, wish you guys all the best for your appeal.
In 50 words, express yourself and of course your passion in the course you appealing for is of utmost importance.
Btw, I'm appealing for ADM too - Digital Animation. Have yet to submit cos' I'm drafting up a few to select from. Anyway, if you are trying for vis comm, it going to be very very tough. To know why, check out the ADM Club forums.
Well, I don't know..3.61 and you wasn't accepted? hmm, i thought i saw it somewhere 3.3 got accepted for this course?![]()
Probably I'm not on par with the other 3.61 people.I hope so too. But 3.61 and 3.7 is a big difference. I'd say 3.7 is like a safe board for most RP students if they have the intention to further studies.Comp sci shouldnt be too difficult to get in... my friend got that this year, has a gpa of 3.7 and she's from RP too. She still hasn't made up her mind on which uni yet. She got offers from all 3 schools.
Now you make me worry.i also appealed before!but i typd out the essay n bring to the school itself..to show sincerity..but i failed..ahaha!ooo..and ur appeal letter must show relevance to the course u want to take..if not they will not even shortlist u for interview...
i appeal for com sci too.. what was your gpa?
NTU 50 words?! but NUS 1000 words!
Appeal after the release of application outcome (30 May to 5 June 2008)
Applicants, who wish to appeal against the admission decision of NUS, are allowed one appeal to be submitted online with your application number and Admission PIN, from 30 May to 5 June 2008.You may submit multiple appeals but only the last appeal received by the closing date of the online appeal will be CONSIDERED.
A total of 1000 characters are allowed for the appeal. The ability to summarise and be concise is valued. The length of the written appeal does not enhance your chances. The outcome of appeal will be released by end June / early July 2008.
Mass emailing to multiple parties within NUS outside the appeal protocol will result only in slowing down the appeal process. The NUS Office of Admissions makes the final decision on all appeals.
Applicants are advised to exercise personal planning. Applying only to NUS is not a valid reason for appeals. While waiting for the result of your appeal, you should accept the course offered, or your place may be given to another applicant.
Please note that appeals to Architecture, Dentistry, Industrial Design, all Law-related courses, Medicine, Nursing and some of the double / concurrent degree programmes that require a selection interview, will not be considered, unless you have taken the required aptitude tests and interviews conducted earlier.
I mean, in first year, they only allow you to take the general stuff first, before you jump to major in 2nd year? So why do they only allow us to click the specific major now??
characters and words dont mean the same thing eh
oh..din read carefully. lol but 1000 characters still alot more words then 50 words rite?
It depends on the choice of words you going to use.
i.e. And = 3 Chars compare to & = 1 Char
For those appealing to courses other than to their ADM, it will be based on Merits meaning Polytechnic 80% plus Olvls 20%. For Cat B applicants only. Cat A and others, I'm not sure.
For those appealing to ADM, you will have to have submitted your portfolio during the initial application. It will be reviewed and same thing based on the above as part of the appealing process.
Good luck to all! =)

you mean they would not even consider other factors arh? like cca involvement or some other achievements etc![]()
about when will we receive our appeal results?
I wanna appeal but I lost my application number... Any idea go where to find it back?
