I have the plus card (due to ntuc insurance) and every September I will be given 4%(which may varies if got surplus) on the amount spent at NTUC. For financial year ended March 2012, 4.5% rebate is declared

So far i know, linkpoints can be exchanged for rebate on purchases, which amounts to 1.3% equivalent.

I do not have ntuc visa- only the plus card. By getting 40 points(spending $20), I get 26 cents accumulated into my plus card.

f&f refers Friend and Family credit card fromMaybank-
Family & Friends Platinum MasterCard | Maybank Singapore

refer #85 to apply plus card (this is not a debit card).

Ntuc shares are not available anymore-

Q1 said can apply $20 shares but Q2 said no more issue membership card as card is replaced by plus card.

just join as ntuc union member, and you can get the 4%-5% rebate every year on your purchase at fairprice.

The plus visa card (also a membership card) gives you credit card facilities. You will still need to show your union membership card upon payment with f&f.

It all depends what benefits of NTUC Union Membership u are interested in. If u are just interested in getting discount/rebates from NTUC fairprice purchases, then no need for NTUC Union Membership. Now the best option I believe and I'm using are:

1. Use Maybank F&F credit card to purchase NTUC Fairprice vouchers at 10% discount when there is promo. Haha, I got my sister to do it as I dun have Maybank F&F. So enjoy 10% off all purchases all year round in NTUC fairprice group of companies.
2. Own the Plus Card, cost $10 one time fee. I got my Plus Card long time with NTUC Insurance Policies, entitled to purchased shares which auto compounded over the years and earn yearly dividends. Plus card will allow u to clock your purchases so annual rebates can be calculated, % rebates varies each year (3-5%). Plus card also allow u to clock and redeem linkpoints at various participating merchants.

So there u are, all the discounts/rebates.

I probably got my NTUC Link card via my insurance policy. However I am also paying the $9 as a union member. Can I quit union membership and yet retain the supermarket rebates that come with the Link card?

Having said that, the NTUC membership for some legacy holders, maybe don't pay annual fee. The current ones, to earn the rebates, they need to pay annual fee. Otherwise the Plus card is just to earn link points.

Plus card will not get u rebate from fair price. However, shareholders will. All union members will become shareholders but they have to return the shares when they cease to be member. You probably brought your shares from other sources. NTUC Income, I suppose?
