This is normal for M1 based networks. Nothing new. It's a major issue for people who just want to be able to take out their phones from their pockets and use it as usual.I just find it odd that every now and then I need to "refresh" my network by toggling Airplane mode on and off. Never experienced this with GOMO, Giga or Grid before.

It can be frustrating when you are dependent on data messaging (iMessage, Email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, FB Messenger, etc...) Cos as long as your data connection is down, you don't receive anything. The worst part, you don't know when your data is down cos it all looks okay, and you get family/friends/colleagues/bosses complaining why you are uncontactable/never reply.
It all came to light during the introduction of SafeEntry, when people realised they can't just check-in easily. I know people now who stick to their M1 based lines but only use the Token to check in.
Even now I still find that I have to toggle airplane mode to force a reconnection to base stations for data to work. That's why Changi Mobile is my backup line, not my main.

Same thing happened to me when I was with Myrepublic which also uses M1 networkI just find it odd that every now and then I need to "refresh" my network by toggling Airplane mode on and off. Never experienced this with GOMO, Giga or Grid before.
Seems to still be happening when I pop the card into a phone for the day. This was a glaring issue when at the start of pandemic, but now the areas with such issue reduced significantly alr.
And that happened on your Changi Mobile card? Okay, now I am worried....Seems to still be happening when I pop the card into a phone.
Just yesterday I was out and after a few speed tests on the train, noticed that notifications came in through my iPhone on ST, but nothing on the Pixel 4a. Ignored it and just used my iPhone (primary phone) for the day. I remembered checking the Pixel just before I left Marina Bay area to head home and there were no notifications on it.
The moment I connected to wifi when I got back home, there was a notification flood on the Pixel - all the messages came in, including a couple of messages on some accounts restricted to that number (ie, not on my iPhone).
As we know, coverage is location dependent. If it works for some users, great. If it doesn't, keep it as spare (cos cheap enough) or port out to something else that works. We have 3 established telcos and one up and coming one.
Nothing to be worried. I've shared before in my case M1 coverage isn't strong enough - where I am normally for 85% of the time (eg, Home, work, etc..). This is not the case for many users since coverage would differ. So in your use case it could be good enough. And that happened on your Changi Mobile card? Okay, now I am worried....![]()
In fact, I might move it to TPG but am not really firm on that yet.If no notifications for such prolong period of time and you're travelling to so many places, might actually be the Pixel's problem.Seems to still be happening when I pop the card into a phone for the day.

As we know, coverage is location dependent. If it works for some users, great. If it doesn't, keep it as spare (cos cheap enough) or port out to something else that works. We have 3 established telcos with deployed infrastructure and one up and coming one that's almost fully deployed - plenty of choice for each user.
I guess. By your argument, it's perhaps the same problem too for a Galaxy S9+ (Android 10), Note 9 (Android 10), Pocophone F1 (Android 9), S20+ (Android 11) too. Cos that's the list of phones the Changi Mobile SIM has been in the past 2 weeks. If no notifications for such prolong period of time and you're travelling to so many places, might actually be the Pixel's problem.
At the start could be the network, then Pixel gave up pinging, wait for WiFi then ping. Android's problem of handling connectivity issues imo.

Uh what.I guess. By your argument, it's perhaps the same problem too for a Galaxy S9+, Note 9, Pocophone F1, S20+ too.

Perhaps so. I just checked - I did take a photo with the Pixel at Tiong Bahru tho. So it's not true that I didn't use the phone at all.Uh what.
Pocophone F1 I can suspect it's MIUI being MIUI.
Samsung, maybe same as Pixel, might be Android's Doze mode.
Like you said, you didn't use the phone. It might have triggered deep sleep mode, in an effort to reduce battery usage.
Maybe u try and put the Changi SIM into the iPhone and see if the issue is the same.
Hmm weird issue...Perhaps so. I just checked - I did take a photo with the Pixel at Tiong Bahru tho. So it's not true that I didn't use the phone at all.
Geolocation and timing checks out in Photos app.
Really puzzling cos I'm sure I didn't get any notifications on it, and DND was not set.
I ported my old number in. Haven't gotten a single WhatsApp call.has anyone ported in their old numbers into changi?
been receiving non-stop whatsapp calls ever since port in
i somehow think their phone database is not secured
maybe some employees sold them or hackers can access them easily from the cloud
do note that this old number i ported has been inactive in the sense i dont use them often
so quite positive its due to changi mobile port in
If most if the time you are either home or office with WIFI.And that happened on your Changi Mobile card? Okay, now I am worried....![]()
Yes, same sentiment as you. I ported in a dormant TPG line that NEVER had spams.has anyone ported in their old numbers into changi?
