There is no need to sell phone numbers. Scammers just need to dial 81000000 to 99999999 to try their luck.

This is what the robot callers do. Our number range is already known. Just increment and keep calling. It is amusing how many people here assume it's still a human doing the calling - it's not, it's automated and they cycle through the number blocks.

Also, as IMDA did publish the results of telco number spaces being awarded, it's easy to target that subset of users.

Then there's also the DNC registry - the first thing users need to do is to add their new numbers to that list, so that it cuts out local spammers.

it's not that we don't know that they are robo calls, but how come like other users here, only their new CM number get so many spam calls in a day?

Our other numbers from other telcos within the range don't even get that many calls within a day and they are used even longer than new numbers from CM

Also, I registered with DNC but DNC only works with legitimate local marketers. It has no effect on robo callers, even +65 robo calls

You have to ask CM or the authority. as stated, robo calls will just dial the numbers. They dun need to know if the numbers are valid or not.. I feel it is the onus of the authorities to stop these robo calls. But they will give u 1001 excuses. Lame..

Agree with your sentiments but realistically, if the scammers are based overseas in 3rd world nations where enforcement is sh1t, there is nothing much SPF can do too. As much as I am pissed about spam calls myself

Based on my experience, porting out doesn’t resolves the issue in my case. Coz that CM issued mobile number is still the same, but on a different telco carrier. I have since ported out to ST after a month of subscription with CM, with high spam calls during the last 2 weeks, and I continue to receive spam calls after porting out.

Beside the usual +65 spams calls, most of the other spams originated from South Korea, Russia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait - before and after port out. The only consolation is the spam calls come in during the day after 9am till late afternoon, and not at night.

I try to block all incoming international calls on my Samsung phone with that mobile number but it only offers either the option to block the specific numbers only or all incoming calls Instead; which effectively makes me uncontactable.

I’ll be glad if someone can advise how to block international calls (regardless of regions) on the Samsung phone or via some 3rd party apps, since I’m not expecting anyway. How about telco, can telco block based on request?

hi, hope someone can enlighten me on their 1 month rollover ? ...........the website says the offer ends on 31 Dec 21......(see below)

'' Roll over your unused data to the next bill cycle, with no cap on the rollover amount! (Valid till 31 December 2021) ''

so this means no more rollover after 31 Dec ?.............or rollover will continue as long as i register with them before 31 Dec 2021 ?

if the rollover will continue in 2022..............so i can rollover any unused data on a monthly basis ?............so good meh ?:s11:

You change your number to end your suffering. Why don't you do that? Port here and there won't help you. Even if you report SPF also get this suggestion change number from elite home team

Getting occasional spam calls is normal (sadly) as many pointed out, the machine will just randomly call within the range from 80000000 to 99999999

But to get so many spam calls within the day during our working hours is very unusual. I have 2 older lines from the big 3 telcos and they never have numerous spam calls within the day during working hours. And these 2 lines are given out and filled up in forms (albeit for good reason, like government, banking, insurance, medical, etc). They do get 1-2 spam call per week but that is still "manageable"

My new CM line, never even given out or filled up in forms can get 6-7 spam calls within a day during working hours. It is a bit hard to believe it is not "targeted"

THe easiest approach to end the spam calls is to terminate the mobile plan and switch to another telco with a new mobile number. However, due to some sentimental values which I attach to the number - personal reason, I chose to retain this particular mobile number.

Yes, I'm well aware the porting here and there will not and will never resolve this spam calls issue since the number is still the same; as my response to coUguy. And certainly, reporting this issue to SPF will not too ;)

Changi got no unlimited basic internet after using up the mobile data limit ?

Hey mate, I replied your qns in that thread you started. ;)

Changi has no unlimited basic internet. But if you are trying to compare it with redone, do note redone's so called unlimited is very much useless speed wise. A HWZ page or an email will take over 4-5mins to load. Not meaningful to use this "feature" as a comparison to decide between these two mvno.

Try these suggestions from android authority?

Alternatively, if you are able to side load apk, and if your samsung phone allows you to change your default phone app, you can try this phone app by xiaomi which has features to block overseas call, calls from hidden numbers, calls from strangers, etc.
