Hi Experts, I am in the mist of doing up my home. Currently told the electrician to wire up all switches with neutral wire.
Was planning to get the Aqara D1 switches with M1S Hub initially but found out there was some Aqara changes. (I am not including Home Kit cos I am not using any Apple product)

Here is what I have research, might not be right. Pls correct me if I am wrong
- Aqara M2 Hub, can only use Aqara App
- All China version Aqara Hub (M1S, M2) are not compatible with Google Home
- China version M1S Hub still can use MiHome app
- Global version M1S can use MiHome App and Google Home App but cannot pair with China D1 switches

I have a few Qs, hope experts can help me out.

1. Do I need to get ready my smart switches for the electrician or he can use normal switch and I DIY myself after everything is wired.
2. Anyone using China M1S and China D1 switches. I know we have to use Mainland China sever. How bad is the latency?
3. How is Xiaomi Smart Gateway 2, will I be able to pair with Aqara D1 switches?

What I am trying to achieve is to start off with smart switches for now, also linking to the Xiaomi Push Pull door lock, Xiaomi Doorbell. Plus some automation and also add some Aqara wireless switch.

For Q1. No need. Electrician will tape the wire first. wait until you have the switch, then connect by yourself.

1. No need but might as well have everything ready and let the electrician do everything for you. Especially if you are not familiar with all these stuff, might be dangerous. It's a waste of money to have the electrician fix up normal switches, its like double work.
2. I tested China aqara hub bought from Aliexpress before no problem. For the D1 switches, I don't think there is a different in version, of course you have those meant for US switches and those meant for other countries standard. It should be just a dumb zigbee device.
3. I have the Xiaomi smart gateway v3, all xiaomi hubs you can pair with aqara switches on mihome. You can forget about using Google voice if you are using mihome unless you go and use those unofficial crack version.

Hi guys, I am planning to use Aqara D1 switches for my new house. I am getting them from shopee which means it rides on mainland china server and I won't have Google assistant.

I am seeking for suggestions as I hope to achieve this scene by using the existing aqara setup:

"Turning on the the 2 power extension to supply power to my TV, soundbar and subwoofer(the other side of the room) by clicking on the wireless aqara switch."

I tried looking for smart plug adapter like these it's either I need many adapter or the amp support is only 10A.

You can use google voice to control the aqara D1 switches, just need to choose the right hub or right smart home solution to do it. There are many other smart sockets to choose from like tplink or ikea.

Does the 3 colours still work? I read the taobao page which seems to indicate it doesn’t work with multi colour lights.

Went for the Avatto Neutral switches as posted for the lights. Got the higher ampere switches (up to 30A) from Lonsonho; both arrived within 2 weeks after purchase from AliExpress.

And guess what, both come in similar boxes (I believe its all OEM, the brands just take from supplier and sell it at different cost - so choosing the cheapest Avatto works well enough).

Also got my ID to pull neutral wired to each switch point (quoted $30 ea point); but to-date, have yet to got them installed because reno works have been delayed... Will update in a few weeks' time!
Any updates, best if you could includes pictures of it as well?

Need help. I have a number of 2 way switches (control lights from 2 locations).

Anyone managed to install the aqara without neutral wire? Any guide out there?
