ASUS is coming out with the newest AX 89X router . Price is $600 plus.

The AC 5300 router is always priced at around $500 ( with Standard Deviation of $100).

If I were you , I would buy the AX 89X router.
( My AC 5300 is still going strong, so I can’t upgrade ... yet

No idea on this Carousell as I do not really use Carousell. And I am not good at finding lobangs.

RT-AC5300 is a high end router (Tri-band AC router), so depending on the price you find out, you may want to consider other routers like RT-AX88U (dual band WiFi 6 router).

It is the newest Asus flagship model, meant to replace the AC 5300.

The point I was trying to make was that if anyone is thinking of getting the AC5300 model now , it is more worthwhile to top up an additional $100 for the AX wifi capability.

Are there any good ongoing promotions for Singtel Fibre TV? Don't need internet, just the TV service will suffice.

Considering my options as my Starhub contract is ending and they will be charging me an extra Fiber Access charge of $15 per month.

That S$15 itself already puts SingTel TV a better option for you compared to Starhub, in terms of cost.

As for promotion, there is probably no promotion if you are only interested in SingTel TV but not SingTel Fibre Internet, at least on the website.

What you can do is to go to any SingTel Shop and go straight to the Singtel TV counter (eg: there are two counters for SingTel TV in SingTel Shop Jurong Point) and ask for any potential offers.

No idea of the price as it is not available yet. There are listings which show US$450 but not confirmed. Its main attraction is the two 10Gbps ports.

I will think RT-AX88U or the upcoming RT-AX86U will be a better buy for most of the people here. Then there is also the tri-band GT-AX11000 which is more the direct upgrade for tri-band RT-AC5300 and GT-AC5300.

Check your TV settings to see if there are some upscale settings. SingTel TV is only 720p or 1080p.

For your Mio Set-top box, you can check the video settings.

I had the same experience before.

The Mio box was set to a Default low resolution ( sub 1080) when it was delivered to me.

RT-AX89X is super high end and not needed for most of the people. But if you are willing to pay for the best, then yes RT-AX89X is good.

You will not be disappointed. I’m using the ac86u for so long. Super happy with it. Going to upgrade to ax86u when it comes out!

Just go to a SingTel Shop and then go straight to the specific Singtel TV counters to ask. No need to waste time with the front line staff or online sales person.

Thanks for the updates. Good to know that you can at least get some perks.

SingTel TV Go subscription is actually pretty good, especially if you have TVs not in the living room. You can buy a Mi Box S and then install SingTel TV Go app on the Mi Box S and then enjoy.

2 weeks back i had a call from ST
first time receiving such call
said my fibre plan already out of contract since May
giving me some perks if i renew my ST TV as well
CSO was too eager to close the deal
kept asking me if i’m ok, so can proceed
i kept stalling since i was caught off guard by the offer
in the end i declined
i rather pay no contract for the next few months
bcoz covid has affected a lot of ppl’s livelihood
i thought it be unwise to commit to a 24-months contract again at old pricing ... and then regretting when fond out they slashing prices months later
so, please weigh the pros n cons
they offered me 50% off my STB subscription ... ST TV current package $$ no change
that’s what made me think twice
and yeah, i got the EPL package too at the moment
