Anyone know whether recontract tv, the normal setup box is free? As in do I need to pay additional fee per mth? I went online and it doesn’t state when try to check out? So ya confusing

Better to go to the SingTel shop to have better offer, from the specific TV counters (not mobile or Internet counters).

Last year during recontract I asked online and the roadshow and even the staffs at the entry of SingTel shop, they all had no clues.

My final offer: 50% off SingTel TV family favourite pack, free basic box rental (S$5), 12 month contract. Take note I am on Singtel Circle. Your offer may be different.

Anything related to sports will be difficult to have discounts but you can try to ask for freebie.

BTW new users get very good offer for 6 months contract.

Enjoy 50% OFF our Family Packs on a 6-month contract.
(from U.P. $23.90/mth). Plus, a $50 groceries voucher is yours, and a chance to win a Home Entertainment Bundle worth up to $5,000 when you sign up for a new Singtel TV service!

I’m having all 3 services consider I am on Singtel circle .
My previous tv package (value pack) comes with free dvr setup box 24mths ending another few more days. So currently I received a mailer to recontract my bb @39.90 which I think not bad (previously is 49.90 free 5 mths). but tv wise I got nth.. so I decided to call , and compare online.

1. Via phone: same price but dvr box 50% off 24mths (6.90) or change back to normal box at 4.90$
2. Online: same price but the dvr box costing not very clear cos when I tried to checkout, the summary state 0$ for the setup box..

Obviously 1. compare to my previous plan it’s consider an additional cost
So dunno what to do now haha

Your SingTel mobile plan needs to be Combo plan to qualify as SingTel Circle member, not XO plan, CIS plans (including CIS Combo plans) or SIM only plan.

Go to SingTel shop TV counter.

You should be able to get S$39.9 on the internet side. Just show the mailer. It is a good offer.

On the TV side, you should be able to keep existing offer. Maybe it will become 12 month contract.

Ic so probably go to the Singtel booth and have a check to see whether have other offers. My previous plan are done via an agent who called me to recontract, and at that point of time comparing to online or shops, it’s the best deal. So I realized different departments have different promo

Bought a new router (Redmi AX5) to upgrade the Singtel AC plus, I have set it in AP mode. The wiring looks like: ONR > AX5 > Singtel TV box.
With this setup, Singtel TV will crash after like 3 seconds of viewing any channel. It will show connection issue page, with error code 150.
Any networking expert can advise on this? :)

I think your ONR can go str to your MIOtv box right? One port for internet, one port for MIOtv.

This will not work. Between the ONR and SingTel TV Box, either you have nothing, or you have an SingTel issued router in AP mode, or a dumb switch. 3rd party router in between will not work.

1) The following will work.

ONR -- AX5
ONR -- SingTel TV box.

2) The following will work as well.
ONR -- AX5
ONR -- SingTel AC Plus (disable WiFi) -- SingTel TV box.

Or:
ONR -- SingTel AC Plus (disable WiFi) -- Singtel TV box

SingTel AC Plus (disable WiFi) -- AX5

3) If for some reason you can not use the above two methods, try the following trick to see if it works or not.

ONR -- AX5 LAN Port (not WAN port) -- SingTel TV

Disable wifi and disable dhcp of the AX5 to make it in AP mode as well (dumb switch plus wireless AP).

Thanks for the quick response! Actually the ONR is away from the router + TV box, connected via a ethernet port in the wall.
So I can only plug the router to the wall, then the TV box to the router.

Just saw this, wow thanks for the answer that's really clear!

Will probably go with option 2 haha. Option 3 sounds interesting tho maybe will try when I got the time to mess around :s13:

Can I bring my ONT modem to my sis' place to use? Is there any special configurations tagged to the ONT? 🤔

We're having the same mio tv fiber plan at 500mbps :o

Reason is the asus router works at my place but I bring over to her place cannot work. Only to realize her ONT and mine are different - which I'm not sure why. Hers don't have the blue color port behind the ONT socket and is plugged into the yellow LAN3. My ONT got the blue socket that will connect to my asus router, then fr asus router connect LAN4 yellow cable to singtel mio TV box

Hope my explanation isn't confusing bc I'm a noobie

It will not work.

Just check if she is really using an ONT or ONR.

What is plugged into LAN3?

ONT -- only one port is working, you need to set up VLAN on your Asus router.

ONR - all 4 ports are working. You need to set up your Asus router as an AP.

If you see something connects to the LAN 3 on her "ONT" (say SingTel TV box), then she has an ONR and not ONT.

ONR -- Huawei or Nokia
ONT -- ZTE, ALU, Ericsson

https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont

Optical Network Terminals (ONT)
ALU ONT
Ericsson ONT
ZTE ONT

Optical Network Router (ONR)
Huawei HG8244H ONR
Huawei HG8240T5 ONR
Nokia G240 ONR

No problem using your Asus router, just set it up as an AP.

ONR -- SingTel TV box
ONR -- Asus router in AP mode

meaning i can straight away connect the ONR to the asus router?

her current ONR setup is:
LAN1 - empty currently (can use this slot to connect to asus ac1200+ yeah :o)
LAN2 - yellow cable to mio tv box
LAN3 - blue cable to st wifi gigabit router ac plus
LAN4 - blue cable to duno where lol (think is to tv box too?)

SOrry to ask this: What is AP? do i need to set any special configuration on asus router admin page?
Then if like that will i have 2 conflicting wireless routers (1st is the current st wifi gigabit router ac plus, the 2nd is asus router)??

:o :(

AP mode setup

As for interference, you may keep them apart by about 1.5 meters.

Then you can compare the wireless performance of AC Plus versus the RT-AC1200G+ to see which is better.

In case the AC1200G+ is better, you can remove the AC Plus.

Thanks xiaofan!! Really appreciate your great help on how to set up the router successfully. Very pleased with the wifi connection speed too! Much better than stinktel ac plus router~ :o
