I am eligible to recontract my singtel fibre home entertainment bundle.

Currently playing $69.90 for 500 Mbps fibre + singtel tv "family +".

I am currently subscribing to starhub and didn't even connect mioTV set top box. :s13: But with the cost of starhub plans rising, I am planning to stick entirely to singtel for all the bundle discounts including the singtel circle and annual handset upgrade.

Based on current offerings, i am looking at recontracting with jingxuan basic pack and 500 Mbps fibre, and then cancel starhub tv.

The main channels we watch on our starhub tv are: Nat Geo/discovery, chinese variety entertainment (jacky wu shows) and badminton.

There are a few problems with singtel tv:

1) No badminton action in any of the listed sports package. (world sports +)

2) Cannot mix Jingxuan starter pack with Education channels in Family Starter pack. Seems like I have to sign the $57.90 jingxuan trio. Way too expensive and inflexible:s22:

Is there anyway to mix jingxuan with just one basic education group from family starter? I hope i can ditch starhub for good... And it still isn't a perfect solution/combination. I still have to look for badminton websites to stream. :s22:

Mio Tv has nothing interesting to watch. Using SH Tv and M1 internet.

Hi,

My family recently re-contracted and my mum and sister discovered to their dismay that some channels (notably KBS World) that used to exist with the old subscription were not accessible on the new subscription (Family Starter).

Could you please advise on why this is so?

Thanks.
Hi slfwhn,

We did a revamp of TV Packs in March 2015. As the Family Starter Pack is tailored for family entertainment, without any favoritism of ethnicity, the ethnic/Asian channels such as Jia Le and KBS World were shifted to ethnic specific packs (e.g. Jingxuan Starter).

To sign up for KBS World, customers can add $10/month for Chinese Entertainment Pack or $29.90/month for Jingxuan Starter Pack.

Hope that clarifies.

Hi erwinrommel,

You can sign up Family Learning, which includes Education, Kids and Lifestyle and Music genres, and add-on with Jingxuan Starter.

Hope this helps, thanks. :)

this combination is too wasteful and costly. I will think of some other ways.

Hi r0_ger,

If you're referring to our Singtel TV with fibre broadband promos, we do have the following options:

(1) $44.90 on 1Gbps fibre broadband with family starter sign-up
(2) Free 8 months 1Gbps fibre broadband with value pack sign-up

If you're interested to sign up or have other queries, do drop us a private message with your contact details and account information.

Thank you and TGIF! :)

How much will the monthly subscription be for (1)?

Do I still get 4g data sim with 1gb data?

If I don't need the modem as I'm using my current Asus RT AC3200, will there be further discounts?

Hi Singtel

Am a bit dissapointed that u decided to remove multiview channel 101 :( I use to view this channel on my big living room TV and yes i can follow 4 matches at the same time w/o issue. I understand that Chn 103 is now designated as Eleven TV but why pull multiview 101? Actually why not have a user programmable multiview channel function where the user can state which 4 channels to be available on multiview? For example maybe we can have 102+103 (EPL) and 109 (Serie A) + 114 (Bundesliga) on multiview if all matches are at the same time?

Hi whistle blower,

Thanks for sharing your feedback on this with us. We hear where you’re coming from, and will surely highlight your sentiments on this, as well as your suggestions on the multi-view format, for the relevant reviews.

The real reason behind cessation of multi-view is to subtlely push subscribers to take up Singtel TV GO. You want it back? Wait long long. If you can see how multi-view affect their Singtel TV GO bottomline, you will know you are never gonna get it back.

Singtel, the dropping of channels like Phoenix Chinese, Phoenix InfoNews and the 2 RTL chs is very disappointing,if the reasons is due to poor ratings, that's not very valid. A no. 1 song in Billboard may not be pleasant for some ppl, so one should notbuse ratings as a benchmark. A good song may not enter the Billboard chart but that doesn't mean the song is horrible to listen to. So please dun use ratings as a excuse to drop these chs, Hope u can feedback to ur concern team to reconsider reinstating these chs, thx!

I can't comment on why Singtel is doing this, but probably it's due to low demand and high operating cost. Multiple factors causing such a change.

If certain channels are good, do reflect back so that the marketing team can look into bringing those back..

My experience over few years: They start removing channels for whatever reasons they may have and do not replace them for your pack. The pack you subscribing to get less and even lesser channels. They re-package and rename their packs frequently at higher and higherer prices and new channels they acquire are put into them, never to replace what they removed from you, even GOLD pack.

I took the best response I can give - I cancelled Singtel TV. Voted with my pocket.

Hi,

1. Is Singtel silver set top box full HD? 1080p? I just upgraded my HD ready TV to a full HD TV but I do not see the 1080p screen resolution in the settings.

2. Is there any way I can change to a new set top box? I find that it is lagging especially when compared to the new set top box I experience in my friend's house.

I don't think the Motorola supports 1080p. 1080i at most I think? Just call 1688 and report of the lag. They might change your STB then
