You can be subscribed to an ISP for Fibre BB and ST MioTV service separately. But not for Starhub's case though, I was hoping IMDA can do something about this with Starhub's nonsense for strict bundling Fibre BB + Pay TV

Now StarHub is also allowing you to do that but you pay S$16.5 extra for that “do not know what to call” fee.

Edit to add: seems to be called Fibre Access Link Free as found in Google.
Fibre Access Link fee: $16.50/month This fee applies if StarHub Fibre Broadband Service is terminated.

Anyone use SingTel TV Go app on Apple TV? How is the resolution compared to setup box?

Any lag/delay when watching using the Go app?

Hi guys,

I am a MyRepublic fibre broadband user with Starhub cable tv. Was told to change to Fiber TV provided by Starhub because Cable TV services will end next July. However, the problem with Fiber TV provided by Starhub is that I need to sign up for their fiber broadband. I dont feel a need to do so especially when I am already on MyRepublic.

No need to switch to SingTel TV yet. You better check with StarHub for the offering first. Some people get free 24 months Fibre broadband when converting from StarHub Cable TV to StarHub Fibre TV.

I’m experiencing the same. CH510 suddenly require $0.90 addon to watch with 100% Cantonese audio.

Singtel can seriously anyhow add and remove without informing subscribers?

Hi v0dka and yperic,

Thank you for checking. cHK (Singtel TV CH 510) was previously offered as a complimentary Mandarin language channel to all Singtel TV subscribers since 2015.

The channel began airing with 100% Cantonese audio from 20 November 2018 to offer viewers an authentic experience of the drama, variety series, and blockbuster movies from Hong Kong.

With the switch to 100% Cantonese audio, cHK will also add fresh programmes across genres, including the channel’s first original productions, all in original Cantonese audio.

Due to the increased investment into its programming line-up, the all new cHK in Cantonese is being made available for à la carte subscription of $0.90 monthly from 18 December, following a four-week free preview on Singtel TV ending today, 17 December.

cHK’s switch to Cantonese was communicated in a ticker message on screen when customers tuned in to the cHK since 6 November, and on the Singtel TV Channel Updates page.

To continue enjoying the all new cHK, you can press the blue button on the Singtel TV remote control to subscribe at just $0.90 monthly or call 1609.

Does Singtel fibre TV work over powerline ethernet? I have my fibre termination point in the kitchen and am trying to figure out how best to make this work for the TV in the living room.

Hi rAcEr,

Our engineers advised that ethernet over power line is very susceptible to disruption. Should there be a surge of power drawn from the circuit (e.g. turning on the washing machine), the signal transmission of Singtel TV will be adversely affected due to loss or dropped data packets.

To ensure you do not get a poor Singtel TV viewing experience, we caution against such a setup and do not offer support for it.

Thanks.

Hi mrclubbie,

To clarify, the cHK (Singtel TV CH 510) switch to Cantonese audio was communicated by a ticker message on screen to customers when tuning in to the channel from 6 November.

Viewers would have seen trailers announcing the switch to Cantonese audio during the four-week free preview of the new cHK from 20 November to 18 December.

We also shared the news on Singtel's official Facebook page on 20 November.

You can still continue to enjoy the new cHK for free on the Singtel TV GO app for mobile devices and compatible smart TV sets.

Simply download the Singtel TV GO app from the Apple App Store or Google PlayStore and set it up according to our guide.

Thanks.
