I've called Singtel with regards to jumping over from Starhub (broadband and TV services). However, the CSO that picked up my call don't even know what Starhub offers and just give me URLs to Singtel's website (which I already know).

If Singtel were to expect people to jump ship, your CSO needs to be better. Simply giving people URLs doesn't cut it these days.

Frankly, after the call, I really have 2nd thoughts about Singtel.

so your question is CSO doesn't know what SINGTEL or STARHUB offers?

For Singtel stuff, CSO just give me URLs (never answer my questions) and doesn't even know what Starhub offers when they are targeting Starhub customers.

In summary, the CSO doesn't know the competition and didn't answer any of my questions with regards to the differences.

Same idea too
When I retain mine sh fibre
I cancell mine hub tv & go mio tv
When the mio tech come they got ask me wanna use the so call wifi bridge & they show me but I say I prefer lan so they Setup another tech to lay the lan over

But gg singtel lan cable is not cat 6 but cat5e but in Thoey cat5e Enough but lucky I already got Cat6 I lay mine self to mine room for other purpose so use mine cat6 to mio tv

if its too far apart without line of sight, then i assume its useless also. Wireless equipment is always subjected to physical environment.

face to face means the both faces of the wireless bridges must be facing each other's direction. imagine it to be a radar with a dish and needle.

Subscribed to 6 months Singtel TV plan. Got myself a decent deal, I think, considering that it's only for 6 months commitment:
- 50% off family starter pack
- 50% off sports+ addon
- free food & leisure addon for 6 months
- free DVR set-top box for 6 months
- 2nd set-top box (non-DVR) for $14.89 :(

What surprised me, however, was that the CSO told me that since my condo has existing LAN cabling, I don't need to go the route of wireless bridge or mesh etc. for the set-top boxes. Does this mean that TV and internet data can both share the same LAN network? I'm currently on 1Gbps and 5e cabling.

Can share the same cable on if you use the singtel router.

I have the Asus RT-AC86u. Will that work?

When you say "singtel router", are you referring to the ONR?

so yours is ONR or ONT?

ONR works like singtel router, anything also can run.

Asus, no. One cable can only run either singtel tv or internet, mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the clarification. Mine is ONT. So i guess when the technician comes to install, he will have to replace it with an ONR then. I hope they will bring a spare set with them. (fingers crossed!)

However, I will like to keep my Asus router at least for the wireless aspect. I find that the signal is a bit stronger than Singtel's routers in the past. So I'll set my Asus router to AP mode instead, correct?

decided to leave starhub, mainly because of losing premium content. I am paying $110 for selected packages + additional set-top boxes and screens. I pay $80 to get all 148 channels including EPL in SingTel...

Anyone else still get this offer?

I called 1688 and was told starhub crossover free 24mth fibre does not include Action Value Pack which has EPL. I was told this is only for the IT Show.

The other promo available online don't need to be existing SH customer but only 5 mths free (I think on the phone can give 6mth as she said is targeted promo depending on who and when call) fibre and tv pack but exclude Action Value Pack with EPL and 3mth free HD DVR. If want Action Value Pack, get 24th mth free HD DVR Set Top instead (also targeted promo). Total $119.80/mth.

I've 2 properties, one with SH fibre broadband & cable tv and another with only other ISP fibre broadband but both under different account names and all contracts expire.

CSO seems like cannot give a clear package, like trying to negotiate different package on the spot and also not very accommodating to my second property.

Seems like not very worth it anymore compare to the deal i_Movies got.

Switching to ST TV with 2 wired STB

I'm also thinking of switching to ST TV from SH TV. Need 2 STBs but must be wired. Seems like ONR is the way to go if I want to avoid the ST router. But I'm not willing to put my current Asus 3-band into AP mode. Can the ONR be configured to have DMZ for my Asus router?

Hi,
Any particular reason why are they giving you such a good deal?
ST only gave me 3 mths free for 12 mths contract for normal starter pack and something like 50% off for the set-top box.

Yeah, initially they also offered me 3 mths for 12 mths. And then when I asked her about the 6-mths contract, told me can give me 50% discount. How silly right?

On the set-top box, you'll need to push them for more discount. The sales person actually has some leeway on that. Same for the food & leisure pack.

Actually for me, the guys here reached out to me, and assigned someone to communicate via email, he was professional and informative and also bundle some deals.. where as SH didn't bother to lift a finger when i told them i was going to terminate cable tv..

Hello, I have just bought a new Asus router and i would like to connect it to mio TV.

I understand have to use the LAN port 4 to connect but the issue is that my router is far from my Mio TV, so i have to connect wirelessly from router to Mio TV. Previously i was using the Singtel mesh (Airties 4930) provided but i understand that this will make the mesh unable to connect to internet when connected to LAN 4.

The issue now is that i stupidly went to get 1 more mesh, so this mesh would now be no use? Is there any other way i can connect to Mio TV wirelessly and still use my 3 mesh? I do have 2 Singtel routers but i'm not sure if it can connect to each other wirelessly.

Basically this is what I want if possible.

ONR -> ASUS AC 86U -> Singtel Router (LAN port 4) -> Singtel Router -> Mio TV
ONR -> ASUS AC 86U -> Airties mesh 4930 x 3

This is what i am currently on

ONR -> ASUS AC 86C -> Airties mesh (LAN port 4) -> Airties mesh -> Mio TV.
This will make me have 1 useless Airties mesh

Thank you all for your help

so if i don't have fibre internet and with 2 setup box they open 2 port on ont?

Hey croc, so whats your set up now? You have existing SH Fibre, so they activated port 2 on the FTP, then ST provided you a ONR?

Then connect 2 STB to the ONR via LAN?
