Hi,

Just have my Fiber 200M setup today. Was using ADSL.

I have some problems, not sure anyone can advise.

ONT > SingTel Aztech 7003 > TP Link 200M Home Plug (Living Room)
TP Link 200M Home Plug > TP Link TL-WR1043ND Router > Mio TV (Bedroom)

There is not much issue watching MioTV expect for the occasional 1-2 seconds freeze. However once the MioTV is turned on, I cant use Wifi in my bedroom. The connection speed is too weak.

That means I have to turn off the MioBox if I need to use Wifi and vice versa.

Any workaround solution? I am hoping not to run direct network cable from living room to bedroom. Too far and unsightly.

If you get decent speed from the other end home plug, try loan another router to try in bedroom.

If speed is bad from home plug,
try changing both position.

I watch BPL, Champions League, La Liga......with no volume issue that you described

Ya the other leagues/cup ok one it seems to be specifically the Italian League games :s22: Also can anyone share the quality of audio when using the optical out from the MIO Box? I tried to do so but the volume still controlled by the box when connected to an AVR? Thought should bypass and volume controlled by AVR? Reverted to use analog audio out i.e red/white haizzz If you go to the "Set up" under "Digital Audio" only got 2 options i.e stereo or 5.1 : why can't they have an option like route digital audio via HDMI or Optical?

Its more of Serie A and Champions League. Because they are all under the same channel. Im not sure its the problem with the box or with the channel. Its just frustrating.

That's a good point. Perhaps there will be a firmware update soon.

I trier optical out to a Philips soundboar. Volume definitely improved. Only problem is when switching to FTA. Also some channels like Nat Geo seems to have lower audio than others, eg SCM.

I have also recently upgraded to 300Mbps, router was changed to Aztech 7003 and settop box to the Cisco one.

However, noted that the router tends to get very hot and this could result in mioTV losing signal.

I had to reboot the whole system twice in a month. Same issue with my customer's house as well. The mioTV lose signal after awhile.

Feedback to Singtel and their engineer came to my customer's place to check. All they did was reset the router.

Keep telling them that the router is very hot after some time. They just ask me to monitor. Sigh

7003 can be hot sometimes if you have a lot of LAN ports being used.. Mine is also hot. but i did not experience the miotv losing signal.. perhaps it is the router itself..

I have a habit of rebooting my routers in the morning..

Remember they don't allow to switch plan during contract.

Starhub, customers can call and switch instantly.

Singtel has been having volume problems with all their setup boxes.

I had changed the Motorola model twice & now am using the 2nd generation model. When I asked for their newest Cisco model, the technician said Singtel has withdrawn all the Cisco setup boxes from the market, as subscribers have complained about the volume too.

It has been more than 1 year, yet Singtel is unable to get a reliable hardware vendor to solve the setup boxes' volume problem.

Are you using HDMI output to TV? I'm using that currently and having the old Motorola stb, still have the low volume problem but not as bad as the conventional RCB..

Yes, since the both the TV & setup box are able to transmit in HD.

The Motorola setup boxes are more than 5 yrs & technology has changed. The Cisco model was supposed to replace the older models, but again, the volume problem remains an issue like their predecessors.

Isn't Singtel going to do something if they want to retain their customers? Their competitor (the green star) has already rolled out new setup boxes for their subscribers.

I recently changed my miotv set-top box from non-recording one (silver box supposedly from motorola?) which was on composite to current one DVR (black color box) which is on HDMI.

I noticed that the volume was very much softer on my newer box on HDMI connection and appear to fluctuate on different channels. I was thinking it was probably due to HDMI connection. Very irritating especially i also have starhub box and have to tune down the volume of my tv everytime I switch to the other box.

I used to subscribe to Starhub TV and was using its HD setup box with HDMI cables connection. The volume was OK. The problem should be with Singtel TV setup boxes.
