My calculations is always based on 1 person's income. In case one of us is out of job, at least we are still able to pay off loans and daily needs. I'm contented as long as we have a roof over our head. Also, NEVER NEVER stay with in laws. :s13:

AGREE!!!! NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR STAY WITH IN LAWS 😵

There should be quite a number of units that are reserved for Malay/Indian/Other races, so you actually stand a better chance than Chinese.

But most of the units in Kallang are eligible for all.

Actually, on second thought, I'm not entirely sure about my own statement. The balloting might be that they don't take into account racial quotas. So you have edge cases where all the allocated numbers are Chinese, and then those that the Chinese can't take, won't have anyone available to book them.

This is correct.

Ethic quota would only be known when the ballot results is out and the flats availability list is out..

And yes, for Indian/Others, you should stand a good chance..Even for Malays..The only question is if you can get a good number infront..Confirm alot of chinese applicants..

Roughly 49 units are for first timers and 11 (assume all 11 for 1st timers) are chinese non-eligible.

Around 415 applications submitted for first timer. So I guess need some good queue number even if 80% applications are chinese applicants. :s8:

When is your May SBF appt?

Draw for Nov SBF is made in Jan/Feb. If your appt is before then, then obviously would be considered as a ST.

Ah ok I thought they determine your first or second-timer status at the point where you make your application and pay the $10.

In the worst case you can wait for next sobf, expected in may 2017, alot of tenteram units left over from may 2016 for you to grab.

if i got a lousy queue number and didn't go down to select unit, will i become second timer for may2017 SBF? If not when a first timer become second timer without even selecting a unit?

As FT, you can reject two times before you are relegated to ST status for a period of one year.
