Too many people inside the train?

My engineer friend told me, if can get signal but cant surf, means overcrowded.

The one feature of 5G is that it can do QoS, which singtel implemented it by tiering the better service to those higher plan, which the $15 should be one of the lowest tier.

Actually not the lowest, rather in the middle among the 5G+ enabled plans.

1) SingTel 5G+ Priority plans
2) SingTel 5G+ Enhanced plans
3) SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 and S$20.37 plans, plain 5G+
4) Gomo 5G+ plans
5) Zym, Zero 1, VIVIFI and CMLink 5G+ plans

Then you have the following 4G plans.
6) Gomo 4G plans
7) Zym, Zero 1, VIVIFI and CMLink 4G plans
8) SingTel hi! 4G only postpaid plans (heya replacement).

However you may need to be patient during this transition period that SingTel is carrying out "network optimization work" and the users may experience "intermittent connection".

Reference from SingTel Facebook post on Monday, 23 March 2026.

______________________________
Update as of 5.23 PM

Dear Customers, we wanted to update you on our network services.
Our teams worked diligently to optimise our mobile network performance and addressed all the issues that led to the recent incidents. We also vigorously further tested our network over the past three days to ensure stability. Customers can be assured that our network services and performance have been stable.

During this initial adjustment period, we understand that some of our customers may have experienced some connectivity issues, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Separately, at 3.45pm this afternoon, there was a different issue impacting some customers. Our checks indicate an international traffic optimisation issue which was resolved within 15 minutes. Our local network remains stable and is operating as expected.

Once again, we understand how frustrating it is to experience issues with your mobile and broadband connectivity. We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience this caused.

—————————————————

We're aware that some customers are experiencing some connectivity issues. Our engineers are investigating and we'll provide updates shortly.

whether it's $15.28 (50% discount) or $20.37 (33%) or $30.56 (no discount), all should be on same priority... network wise. it's just how much discount they give.

tbh, I see no particular benefit since switching to Singtel sim-only. previously when I was hopping between M1 sim-only and Starhub sim-only, they all give me the same experience in underground MRT, and the latter two are considerably cheaper.

I might just switch to Zym (Singtel MVNO) if they really stop the $15.28 offer when my contract ends early next year... my home broadband is using Zym and it's pretty solid and stable (although never test underground before).

Is it just me, but I feel the Singtel 5G Quality dropped quite abit in the last week or two? In MRT tunnels keep dropping and totally no signal etc.

Previously wasn't like this, on the 15$ plan for approx half year now
I experienced the same too during the NSL underground part, was contemplating should I hop out of Singtel should I not able to get the 15.28 recontract deal. My current 15.28 plan will expire some time in June this year.

Hmm, not so sure why you say Starhub and M1 are "considerably cheaper" compared to the Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 plan.

Starhub SIM Only is not really cheaper, the cheapest is Starhub 5G Lite plan at S$22 per month. Even with Passion Card offer it is at S$17.6 per month. Good thing is unlimited roaming voice/SMS. But take note the roaming data buble is only 1GB Asia and 1GB Worldwide.

M1 is only slightly cheaper at S$14.95 per month (first month S$11.95) but with only 150GB and no roaming data.

I think EWL/NSL Underground MRT is no hope for all the providers because of LTA shared antenna thingy based on what I read. Without much help from both LTA and IMDA, this situation will not be improved anytime soon.

To be frank, the addition of 1GB Asia & 1GB Worldwide is still better than ST's no roaming. :p
M1's data passport used to be a USP but too bad they mess it up.

But ST S$15.28 plan got 50GB Malaysia roaming which can be useful for quite some users.

But yes I agree Starhub 5G Lite plan can be a good alternative especially with Passion Card offer at S$17.6 per month.

oh sorry! I was referring to Starhub S Plan ($10) and M1 Maxx ($12) both with 5G. shouldn't have used the term 'sim-only'.

To me, better than the 50GB just for MY, unless one frequently visits MY only. SH's offer provides much more flexibility as compared.
But as always, subjective as depends on individual's needs.

Indeed. Same here the roaming benefits of the Starhub 5G Lite plan can be more useful to me than 50GB Malaysia roaming.

On the other hand, many users visit Malaysia more often though.

I agree too, just that sometimes I see other people able to load videos smoothly while I am looking at the loading icon baffles me. :s13:
