Ya, all these mid month and payday sales not that good.

Have to either wait for repeating day month sales like 1.1, 8.8 then got deeper discounts

Battery maximum health dropped to 99% Liao, about 5 months plus to 6 months into usage.

By right it should be like that.

For my case i bought a Oppo phone on 8.8 but it was $8 more than the payday sales due to the price diff during flash sales.

Not sure if anyone is encountering similar problems but just gona post here

After testing out for a few weeks, it seems that when i turn on private DNS or apps that uses VPN functionality ,to re-route to specified DNS servers, and sleep standby optimization at the same time, both my OP13 and my old OPPO will start to drain 20% over night.

What i have turned on / enabled
- WIFI
- 4/5G Data
- Bluetooth connected to smartwatch

Custom DNS in question - ControlD and NextDNS

Full fledge VPN - With sleep standby optimization
Paid VPN turned on, connected to SG server using its own DNS - no issue
Paid VPN turned on, connected to SG server using configured private DNS option - Overnight drain 19-20%

Full fledge VPN - Without sleep standby optimization
Paid VPN turned on, connected to SG server using its own DNS with pr - no issue
Paid VPN turned on, connected to SG server using configured private DNS option - no issue

DNS apps that uses VPN functionality - With sleep standby optimization
RethinkDNS app with DoH or DoT in Firewall mode - Overnight drain 19-20%
ControlD app with DoH - Overnight drain 19-20%
ControlD app with DoH/3 - Overnight drain 19-20%

DNS apps that uses VPN functionality - Without sleep standby optimization
RethinkDNS app with DoH or DoT in Firewall mode - No issue
ControlD app with DoH - No issue
ControlD app with DoH/3 - No Issue

The wierdest thing is that no apps is detected as running on batteryguru or the built in battery app and it just seems that for some reason with sleep standby optimization, my internet is totally killed and the DoT or DoH keeps trying to resolve itself or that some app is trying or spamming dns resolution.

Anyone facing shopee using high battery usage ? it like draining 60 mAh every hour for that 1 second.

I use private DNS and set to DNS.adguard-dns.com

Don't have such issue

Thanks, good to know.

Then probably i will do some testing with the free adblocking dns providers once i let the phone "understand" my usage more. Quite irritating that it happens on my new phone as i was thinking that it could just be a weak battery on my old Oppo
