I wish WP can set up a team to contest PRP GRC on the next GE

exactly. when the time comes, its possible you have to sacrifice your own retirement funds to help your kids pay for the downpayment. hopefully u wont have too many kids to burden you.

Pretty sad, when I meet other countries colleagues/clients and talk about our lives in Singapore. They always thought our lives were wonderful, with new cars, housing, CPF for retirement, etc.

To promise a popular policy is easy but to implement it is the big question.

TBH, SDA has zero chance to win this ward....

That's why, you can safely vote SDA for the simple reason to reduce the mandate for the pappies....with no cost to the development plans for the ward by the pappies

You want to reduce pappies % cos if pappies has a strong mandate, it just means that u are supporting all their policies, and all hell breaks loose...

Actually, I dont really place much emphasis on opposition plans/manifestos because even if what they have is the best idea in the world, its not going to be accepted or implemented by the pappies....

But we need opposition presence to check on Pappies policies and not give them a free reign to do whatever they please

Yes I agree that SDA has nothing much to offer, but its wards like this that drives up the overall mandate of the pappies which will be a problem

Oooo u notice haha. Ya loh. But after reading this trend it keeps me thinking ya. Swing voter ma. SDA really have nothing much to offer. Policy are populist and not thoroughly thought through

But like u say i do not like pap having a strong mandate on one hand but pasir ris is well maintained -> u cant argue that.

So tough choice la must vote wisely.

Actually even if u vote for SDA, pappies are still going to win in this ward very comfortably so the maintenance of your ward would not be compromised in any way....

But the 1 vote here and there for the opposition parties will go a long way to not give the pappies too overwhelming a mandate to stick it into us for the next 5 years....

How I look at it is if PAP win by a small margin, it'll keep them on their toes and they won't dare to play punk as there's little room for error. If they win by a landslide it's as though they can do whatever they like and we'll still swallow it.

You stay pasir ris also? I know exactly how you feel the place I grow up in doesn't feel like home anymore, it used to be kinda like a peaceful quiet town in the east. Machiam pallet town Pasir ris is losing ALOT of its greenery and forested areas as well.. Which I sometimes really wonder if it was necessary..
