I checked the website… primary classes got nine classes!! So the teachers must be overworked. The school has four principals.

This one I don’t know what to say. Used to be people go all out get in to elite school. Now even neighbourhood school can be so oversubscribed and have to resort to going MOE kindergarten. Even if you get golden ticket get in to neighbourhood school is so big deal meh? SK green got affiliation to any good sec school?

No affliation. Here got no primary school affiliated to any sec school.

I think phase 1 has no consideration because usually no balloting for that phase.

Actually I think in this case the kindergarten should calibrate the numbers every cohort match the primary school numbers if not there’s always people falling out and never get which is insane

Typically 1 P, 1 or 2 VP (Academic) and usually 1 more VP (Admin). 1P 3 VP.

For full schools, they have 2 more VP (Academic) for the Secondary section but the VP (Admin) is shared. So 1 P, 5VP.

I was in the property forum and pointed out that staying <1km no longer has high chance for desired Primary Schools and got shot left right centre. Seems to be the case right here

I didn’t purposely target on this school so I shifted here. But because moe redrawn the boundary so that school is within 1km. But now seem like no hope.

This one only partly true. Schools like acs, Mari’s Stella and many others have been requiring ballot for <1km for a long time so it is not a recent occurrence. Then you have schools like rgps which is still bao jiak even today for <1km

I have friend who staying far away but the sons go Maris Stella because of alumni. I guess is because boy school so usually boy population is smaller than girl population.

2A yes for TS unfortunately is oversub.
If you see Gongshan and PEPS over sub so much is also due to MOE Kindy.

And they are really very popular to begin with...

Applying pri school need to study and see stats then decide which is safer method. Very sian to kena ballot one.

To be fair, there are still close to 80% of primary schools that need not ballot at this phase. There is never a perfect system.
Like what you said, parents should take calculated risks with their eyes wide open.
When i looked at the number of MOE kindergarten classes and compared to the phase 2A vacancies of that particular school, I already knew the sums doesn’t add up.

I been telling my friends if they want kids in future, have to avoid young towns like sengkang bukit batok or soon, bidadari and tengah.. unless they have alumni or association like church. The competition for primary school is very stiff.

Heng my girl got in after balloting for 2A. My BIL is going to try 2B for his son with Maris Stella with some church association. Only got 32 places, dunno can get or not.

this is why i advocate singapore to start having more boarding schools. and send these kids offshore like tekong 5 days a week and only go home on weekends.
