Just need to wait patiently nia

most of the peeps you see camping here are either using this phone as spare/gaming phone/for their parents/elderly as media consumption gadget. doubt os upgrade or security patches are important to them lol. or savvy folks who use custom roms.

Will u all be concerned about the updates period being much shorter when buying EOL phones?

Indeed this can be a concern. So it depends on how you use it. Many people here may use this only for one or at most two years as main phone and then upgrade to a better one and leave this as a backup phone.

Xiaomi mentions "Typically, we will maintain the security updates for at least 2 years after the first shipment of a certain device model. ... *We may support the security updates for 3 years or longer for some models, which are subject to actual conditions."

If you look at the EOL list in the above link, Poco X and M series phones seem to fall into the two year to three year time frame. For example, Poco X3 Pro was released on Mar 2021 and it is not supported now in April 2024 (or may be a bit earlier). Poco X4 was released in Feb 2022 and it is still supported now.

Poco F series seem to enjoy more than four three years support. The only Poco F series mentioned in the EOL list is Poco F1 which was released in August 2018. Poco F2 Pro was released in May 2020 and now it is still supported. Poco F3 was released in March 2021 and it is still supported. Poco F4 was released in June 2022 and it is still supported.

If we trust the above prediction, Poco F5 was released in May 2023 and it will probbaly be still supported until May 2027 (4 years) or at least May 2026 (3 years).

Note: I got the release date from GSMarena.

Poco F2 Pro has been in EOL list since mid-2023, they listed it under Redmi phones for some reason, 3 years support and 2 Android OS updates, this policy seem to apply to F3, F4 and F5.

I would imagine Poco F3 will join the list very soon after recent HyperOS Android 13 update.
