No la that is only partially the problem,

The other problems included (for various manufacturers)

1) putting themselves in the flagship social status category and shake away the value for money moto eg. Mi series, oppo find series

2) when listed you are expected to have certain amount of profit per year hence Listed company can no longer 5% profit margin per phone

3) now that they are stepping up to flagship social status they can no long be following ppl but need to lead with black / dark tech eg under screen front camera etc. All these R&D need lots of money to power hence raising the price to get the power.

4) market expansion into volumetric but Low profit market eg india need time pump resources hence need to earn from those countries that can an afford to pay eg sgp & Europe.

5) increase cost of SOC and inflation of BOM also drives up the cost.

If they are planning to leave the "budget" status, they better stop all the ads on stock firmware. MIUI reputation is tons of apps, and who willing to pay premium to see ads? Can be turn off is one thing, but if im paying 1k for a phone, i don't expect any ads. Its ok if they are still in budget segment, but unacceptable at flagship level pricing.

Ask any reviewer, ads is probably the first few things they say about MIUI, aside from being a iOS copy. :s22:

I using k30 pro and previously k20 pro China.. I didn't see a single ads. As I said before those who see ads are noobs.

Can search around.. This question been ask thousands of times.

Lol bro, relax a bit lah.
In fact, I did search, and mostly what I read is that hardware wise, they are actually similar (unless I missed something). I’m fine with CN ROM too..

U gonna start a post to tell that person to ‘search around’ each time someone asks? Lol.. that’s not anymore helpful than just keeping quiet?

Well, anyway, just checking out if there’s any real difference that’s all. :)

I wonder if any price drop coming to Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro...Snapdragon 855 is still wonderful...and I'm not too impressed with the K30 Pro/Poco F2

price wont drop significant. however, u can camp for sellers doing clearance sales....sometimes can get good deal.

I guess it's better to get the K30 Pro, cheaper than the Poco F2 Pro even though they're actually the same?

Different software I guess...is there any advantage to getting the Poco software over Redmi's?
hardware is the same, just firmware different.

For my opinion, the advantages are
-no worries for incompatible apps
-better resale value

1. Playstore easily installed using Getapps.
2. After Playstore installed, Netflix can be found within the playstore and installed just like what another bro reported. No side load no apkmirror etc. Tried to watch video in HD and it works.
3. Installed Food Panda and till now I cannot get it to recognise my location.
4. Deliveroo I keep signing in via Facebook and it fails to login. I’m not sure why.

Anyone can share the solution for the food apps?

Generally true, but China ROM does support English as well, just not as many language. Have been on K20P CN ROM, no issue with any apps as well. But one thing i do hate is sometimes get redirected to GetApp instead of Playstore. No issue with NFC, Gpay, banking app etc.

I do like their wallpaper carosel which might not be available on some region in Global ROM.

a bit misleading. when it comes to network band compatibility, switching roms does not change network bands supported as that is determined by hardware. for example, switching from china rom to global rom on china set will not enable band 20 which is present on global sets.

also never heard of phone manufacturers allowing root as a "built in feature", never seen it in xiaomi china roms either. only seen in it in those cheap china no brand tv boxes.
