Hi guys! I went for SA (Direct-Entry Sergeant) on 15 October 2018 and medical check up on 10 November. Do you guys know how long will it takes for them to contact us after medical? I am hoping to join Jan intake next year but I am currently studying part-time uni so I will need to defer my studies in next semester (Jan). And the deferment application due date is on 21 Dec :-(

I heard from my friends that SPF will contact confirmation few days before the intake which is very last min....

How long can you defer your studies for? Have you called SPF Recruitment and told them the issue you're facing? (Even though they'll most likely say they cannot give you a date)

I think you should just apply for deferment first.

I can apply deferment for one semester (6 months) for each application. I have called up to tell them about this issue.. so wanted to know from them how long will they contact me. As what you said, they couldn't give me a date and told me they might get back to me in Jan, which is over the deferment due date..

Should I just YOLO and apply deferment? Not sure if I will confirm get in the Jan intake as either I fail medical check up or like some others wait until damn long then get May intake

I think you better just apply deferment. Having to wait for 2-3 months extra is definitely better than having to panic when SPF calls you for bond signing and you didn't secure a deferment from your course.

I think those ORD'ed take longer to get processed after medical checkup. Idk why but that's my observation from reading this thread.

My ORD-ed friend took about 7 months to process his whole application from SA to bond signing.
