What is the reason you are joining SPF?

If it's for the pay, there are other jobs that pay better than SPF for the amount of work you do there.

If you want an easy job, you wont find that there either.

If you're interested in the challenges and opportunities that SPF have, you can consider it.

The link under Direct Entry Inspector answers your question on pay and job scope. Working hours wise, prepare to do shift work, and overtime :)

I second this. Have friends who are regulars and while the starting pay seems lucrative, the amount of work required for the 4k pay is simply not worth unless you are really passionate about it if not you will burn out.

DEI? I think I qualify for DES only.
Shift work and OT are ok to me . . . .
But like I say. I need specific details. Details not found on website but during interview or working there already.

E.g. Mon~Fri 8am ~ 7pm. Sat 9pm~6am. 30min break in between.
Salary = $3,000. 200 Working hours in a month. 55hours per week.
OT is just 150% of usual rate. Shift can be 2D 2N 2O

Ah sorry, misread, yes private diploma should be DES, you gotta check with the recruitment people.

After you pass out of training, it depends on where you're posted to. I assume you will be an NPCO, where most people are posted to. Work hours on paper is 12hrs Day shift, 12hrs night shift, 2 days off. But that's on paper la, even the CNA reporter that followed a pair of officers wrote in her article that it was longer than that. (No OT pay btw)

No OT for uniformed group. No union btw. You are simply at your supervisor disposal.:s22: Just like NS days.

Anyone has any news? Still no news on my end. Careers@Gov still shows as shortlisted.

It'll take a while :s13: it'll probably only update after they accept you.

You'll only get emails in between each stage to inform you about the next one

Haha yea. I attended the DEI SA on 12Feb, but still no email up till now, and my current status is still shortlisted. But i guess i will have to wait longer due to the current situation.

My friend went in Feb too! another went a while back and it took them 1.5 months to reply... With Covid, maybe they are changing things up on their end for safety so just bear with it. No news is good news!
