thanks asriznet

Mine still have around 100GB but you see mine is MBA so I find it abit troublesome to clean install as I do not have optical drive.

Bootable USB is what you need - How to make a bootable OS X 10.10 Yosemite install drive | Macworld

if you find it troublesome, don't do erase and install then LOL

another method is to upgrade first, boot to recovery partition, erase the main partition and reinstall OS X using recovery partition - this is almost the same to a clean install

I think I will choose clean install then.

But then can I ask one last question, that is my MBA comes preinstalled with pages, numbers, iPhoto etc.

How about Yosmite, does it come together also?

Sorry for my long winded question

before you do the erase and install

open up the Mac App Store -> Purchase tab and make sure you have all those apps in there.

if yes, you can redownload them after the reinstallation.

but if you do time machine backup before clean install, it should backup those apps as well so not a big issue either.

How much data do you have in the current system? Best is to do an erase and install, if you need to transfer back the data, make sure run time machine backup first then migrate your data after the installation.
I use this method as well, but won't this method keeps all the problematic files? I read from a Yosemite install guide that "one of the reasons for a clean install is to not have older files present that may have caused problems in the past."

I don't see any new apps installed in my mac after migration. What should I do?

When I'm making an iPhone call thru my Mac, my iPhone screen will toggle between the lock screen and apple startup screen. Anyone experiencing the same?

nope. go to about this mac, click on system report and look under bluetooth to see if your system supports handoff

Yup. I got handoff to work. Both devices need to be on the same iCloud account, same wifi and bluetooth needs to be on. Also subjected to the device you are using. Older devices not supported.

Can't keep it to stay working on my 2012 macbook air though. Initially got it working by signing in and out of my icloud accounts, but then it stopped working like 10 minutes later.

I am also getting syncing problems with icloud drive, where documents take forever to download. :(

And now 8.1 wants me to try icloud photo library? Think I will stay away from now. :s22:

So if you update to Yosemite than your softwares like VMware Fusion and Parallel also need to buy their updates to work with Yosemite ?

Did a clean installation of Yosemite on my Macbook Pro 11,3
When I try to hook up my Macbook via the HDMI port to my school's projector this happens.

System Preferences and the UIServer will start to memory leak until the whole mac freezes.

I've tried a PRAM reset, repairing of permissions.

Anyone has any idea?

Initially, handoff was a little buggy. What i did was restart my mac and iPhone. Turn on bluetooth on both devices. And open bluetooth settings on my mac. Once I was able to see my iPhone as one of the devices, handoff was able to work. You got to try and toggle handoff on/off for both devices.

As for iCloud, if you are facing problems, most likely your iCloud data is messed up. You got to delete your iCloud backups and do a new backup.

Hi,

Anyone have problem with their outgoing calls from Yosemite?

My outgoing call is OK (no interruption and clear) but funny thing is the iphone keeps restarting from the white screen for the entire duration of the call.

Incoming call do not have this phenomenon.

Any one have this experience.

PS. Using MBA 2013 with Yosemite and IP6+ with IOS8.1.

mine worked.
using 2009 iMac and mbp with iPhone 6 also singtel.
I just use wifi leh, sometimes my iMessage takes long to startup (loading all the previous unloaded message) so I wait until all that is done then activate sms forwarding.
