Problems faced when making new passport

Most powerful does not mean easiest to get.

And why not you help him navigate right from the beginning instead of starting a thread here after he has run here run there?

Nowadays I will spend at least 30 mins helping my parents with various administrative matters when I visit them each week, including going thru their phones and letters, paying bills (hospitals dun allow them to settle on the spot after each visit and now send bills to simi Healthhub/ Healthbuddy apps which are best to be paid online), handling their appointments, talking about what's upcoming, utilities/ tv/ telco contracts, buying things online for them etc.

Society is moving fast and many sinkies including EDMWers do not believe SG should run parallel systems for the old, so the children need to step up.

I took my mum's photo, login to ICA website using her singpass on pc, did the application, paid for the passport. She only need to go collect at post office.

Oh btw the application got rejected first round so I had to take her photo again. Good thing I put my own email when doing the application.

my dad 70+ wanna do one new passport.. I told him go online.. he say lead him to the singpass page . Then say his phone no singpass no password leh. last yrs go cpf building do... They tried help him but failed.. solution ask him go buy one new handphone.. then he continues to live his life without singpass ..

So he say just go ica building do can Liao... Yesterday After going there waiting for hours... The ica ppl told him... Can only do online.. no more fill out form drop letterbox... ..

Then he say nvm.. cos he remembers post office use to help ppl do passport one .. today
Went down post office.. ppl there say.. OH.. LAST TIME USE TO CAN DO HERE.. now only can online do.. they changed it...

Then those old ppl no smart phone dunno how go online one.. dun need make passport Liao?? They diam diam..

TS actually just need to go to singpass centers can register your dad singpass to your handphone number can already what(both must be present). ICA passport / ic renewal can do using website no need phone. aiyo.....never go find out first, come in start shooting... u are the problem.

why cant you use your hp to access his singpass... then get it done

if not urgent, go request for singpass reset using computer.
they would send u a reset pin.

Ok... I just did a test ... kek kek trying to apply a passport for my mom, who doesn't hv hp and no singpass...

I try apply using my singpass login, click "applying for someone else"... then msg got say can only be parents... then I key in her particulars n verify and my mother's particular appear to ask to upload her photo n particulars etc, I think can continue without problem wan la... but I jus ended my test since not doing...

So TS dun worry can go online go for your father

i helped my dad did online.
ICA side if they reject the submitted passport photo, they won't update via letter, need to login and see what's the status progress.

if want to buy a hp for parents, at least get one with decent ram, the newer android OS has some issue with multi tasking even at 6GB of ram.
