Don't need opportunities. Just tell your officer that you hope to be a spec & they will know what to do.

As a NS commander, the only power to make life better for your men is break time, book out & stay out.

hmmmmm cool! thanks! well its true for the second part. then again NS unit is probably not that regimental already?

A Dip Grad confirm RET as a CPT/MAJ while a Grad confirm RET as a MAJ/LTC & the rest depend on other factors. <= This is true,

o rly?

Haha, if everybody hope that their promotion is based on what they plan then like that everybody general already. lol...

naiveness. thats all i can say

I think you are very naive. You think so easy to promote? and you so sure u can sign on at the age of 30?

i know this officer, he sign on after he ord and after he grad, but he was already a LTA during his NSF days. and it's already a struggle to even climb up to MAJ, u think so easy can get LTC when u sign on at the age of 30?

for those degree holder who sign on as officer, if u never get at least a MAJOR rank by age 32, is consider fug up liao

scholar get MAJ rank at age 29, LTC 32.....

RSAF & RSN last age for signing on is 27 but for SAF, not sure.

Let say he ORD at age of 21, Grad at age of 25. He will reach CPT2 at the age of 30 to 35 (if he is in the combat side). He will reach MAJ1 at the age of 35 to 40 & be MAJ2 at the age of 40 to 45. The rest is depend but if he is lucky, he will reach LTC1 at the age of 45 to 50.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I start at age of 30, I will lose out but if I am already train for most of the career advancement courses, I can save time because I can be plan by my commanders to hold different appointments at different units.

how u noe cut off age is 27, but last time for AFE, air force engineer for degree holder, the newspaper paper say those mid-careerist are encourage to join. mid-careerist mean those with several years of private sector of exp can still join AFE in RSAF...mean those age like 35 can join???

the people's view here on NS is really very negative :(

TS view is too ridiculously hopeful too.

Cause I work in recruitment before & the black & white for officer & spec is

25 for Poly Dip & below.

27 for degree.

AFE is under MDES which does not below to officer & spec. this is a new scheme which does not belong to the time when I am serving in SAFCC.

how u noe cut off age is 27, but last time for AFE, air force engineer for degree holder, the newspaper paper say those mid-careerist are encourage to join. mid-careerist mean those with several years of private sector of exp can still join AFE in RSAF...mean those age like 35 can join???

if can, why not? & NS really makes people negative.
sign on or lta (ncc)
I cannot show you prove since I do not have it now but if you have friend working in Manpower Branch, you can ask to give you the statistic for promotion.
What makes you so sure that since the last time you saw the black and white, it has not change? and it's statistic. What makes you so sure that statistics = actual practice for EVERYBODY?

Nothing much have change. Just the IPPT (Peer assess vs technology assess) & BMI part that affecting a lot of servicemen. Kena Bottom 5% or kena mark by commander will affect your performance is nothing new.
