Went down to JP with my gf. She likes the Octagon and we reserved a 0.57 G VS1. We have an option to change it to a 0.54 E VS1 which costs $100 more.

Do you think I should stick with my current diamond or change?

We saw both diamonds are can see the 0.59 is v slightly bigger. Color can't really tell that much.. think its because the diamond is just too shiny and distracting to see the color. Or maybe I'm just not that sensitive to it.

My gf told me as long as the diamond is very sparkly can already :s13:

I'll go for the E. In certain circumstances, it's possible to see yellow tint for G Color, since it's only $100 more and the size is just a little bit different, I'll personally go for the E

Hi to all the gurus and experts. A short intro, I used to briefly follow this thread and had been wanting to get a ring from JP for quite some time.

I've made the trip today and was given a short "education" (I guess my little read up and research kinda helped as I've already understood most of the stuff they trying to explain). Ended up buying a 0.78ct, VS1, F colour, HCA=0.9, super ideal diamond (i believe it's the same as what one of fellow forumer posted).

However, to be honest, I did not do proper research and price search at other jewellers before my purchase. Yet today, I kinda curious and went to look look and saw citigems similar specs going for ~1/2 the price and makes me questioned whether I did an impulse buy. (Although I know/presume the cut will be very different quality).

Just hope that my gf/fiancee-to-be will like the ring and I guess that's what really matters to me since I've already spent the money lol

It's hard to compare like that. Some diamonds from Citi gems aren't even GIA or AGS certified.
The cut makes all the difference

Uploaded your scopes for you :)
The setting for the octagon has 8 corners so the setting should be quite unique. You should ask them about it and check if it has any limitations.

My Brellia was a cushion diamond so only those 4 prongs type of setting is suitable.

Not gonna lie, yes you did purchase on impulse definitely.

BUT you can rest assured that you got a fair deal at JP and they didn't cheat your money with a low quality diamond. In terms of the price you paid, you can be quite sure that JP sold you a proper quality diamond with proper specs.

Like another poster mentioned, some diamonds from Citigems arent even certified or are of very poor quality in terms of cut/color etc. Carat is not all there is to a diamond. Did you request to see the diamond from Citigems outside the shop, away from all that LED lighting? Chances are probably not, and even so, chances are it'll be dull and not impressive.

No need to share scopes already know that diamond is of superb light performance haha. Cuz JannPaul's super ideal really no play play. So many bros and sis posted their super ideal scope images here and ALL are best of the best, crème de la crème, tip top kind of quality.

Now the only concern for Dyles is whether or not he (or rather, his bank account) is comfortable with what he paid for.

I''ll go for E upgrade. unless you can really see the 0.03ct difference, I think $100 more for G to E is well worth it.

Thanks all for the support and comforting.

The scopes are definitely very pretty and of excellent quality (like what you will expect of JP's quality. I was prepared to pay this price already, just that when I saw citigem 1ct at ard same price (yea it's GIA, but surely not the excellent quality JP Offers) will have second thoughts. The only reason why I didn't upload the scopes is because they haven't sent me yet. Should I request for them (I've see the aset and all other scopes tho.. really good like all others posted)

Hi guys.

Anybody used pink melees instead of white melees on their setting? How much extra do they cost?

last I asked, pink diamond melees significantly more than normal melees. I didn't ask exactly how much, was just told "a lot more" so I dropped the idea.

Can consider using pink ruby melees instead for cost savings, but not sure whether there will be any problems color-matching if you need quite a few melees. Cheap though.

I only need two, one front one back. Like this:

One of the initial designs I requested renders for was something similar. Using pink rubies, I think price was basically about the same as a normal plain setting w/o side diamonds, maybe +$50 or something. Was told then that unless I'm dead set that it must be diamonds, pink rubies would attain the same colour while costing a lot less.

(in the end I scrapped that design because my GF said the ruby looked out of place, like a pimple) :s13:

Hi guys,

Need some input regarding which diamond to choose.

0.71 D VVS1
0.73 D VVS2

I have already paid the deposit for the 0.73 one but the 0.71 scope images seem better (to me). Any inputs will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Here are the scope images for both:

Most important is you and your wallet is happy with the purchase.

Both are Super ideal and will look 100% the same naked eyes, chose whichever you're more comfortable with:

Was previously quoted $250 extra per fancy pink diamond melee. Still went ahead with initial fancy pink sapphire/ruby though. Looks just as good.
