I'll have 7.5 days in Tokyo from 22-29 March 2014. 1 of the days is allocated for Disneysea, gonna skip Disneyland.

Right now i'm about to book my accomodation but just wondering if it's too much to just stay in Tokyo city for 7 nights? Within that week, we will be wandering off to nearby cities like Odaiba, Yokohama, Hakone. Should we spend 1-2 nights in the cities instead of Tokyo? Or is it sufficient to have 1-2 days in Kyoto/Osaka?

7.5days with Odaiba, Yokohama, Hakone included? BTW, Odaiba should be considered as part of the greater Tokyo.

Yup, 7.5 days all in for those areas mentioned.

Should i stay in Tokyo city area (Shibuya/Shinjuku) and travel daily to those areas or there is something spectacular and that i should spend a night or 2 in those areas?

For 7.5 days, is it just nice or should i fit in Kyoto as well?

Thx!

Hmm, then it's quite short a time for Tokyo. Odaiba though its a sprawling place, can be done in one day. Yohohama too. hakone is a little further out and many recommended an ryokan stay there to enjoy the onsen and the views.

For me, we used the Odakyu Hakone Pass and I just simply took all the transportation mode provided and completed the route within the day. It's all touch and go. So if you want to slowly explore, 2 days are better for hakone. And the pass meant for 2 days anyway. So that leaves 3.5 days for Tokyo. I would suggest staying put within Tokyo city.

Then what are you scared of? Boredom? Loneliness? :s11:

More of no sense of security.
I am not those 大胆 type. If u ask me alone go shopping/movie/eat/etc alone in sg, i am ok. But traveling alone is totally another thing.

Yokohama and Odaiba can be done for per day.

Hakone is depend on individual; some done on 2 days while some people like me only went there for one day(2D 1N is already suffice for this.)

U can try Kyoto for 2-3 days if you want, but some people will recommend tokyo city instead.

Dont trust any info that you get now regarding when sakura will bloom. The climate and weather is still way too early for accurate information. More accurate info can only be obtained around Mid Feb or later.

I would prefer to go early. Anyway 3rd wk of april is still a wk before the golden wk. The price of accommodation shouldnt be too much of a different.

Weather wise it really isnt too much of a different as well. If you are worried just pad a few more layers.

Tokyo is quite easy to travel as long as you have a smartphone with internet connection. Google map is suffice for me. I was there alone as well and it didn't bother me at all in terms of getting around and safety. I speak very very little Japanese. Younger Tokyo residence usually understand simple English, just that they dont speak well.

y u wanna "feel at home like u are in sg" when u are trying to experience a foreign country?

the best way to truly enjoy a holiday, to get away, is to disconnect urself from the internet, shut off ur phone and resist the urge to check ur email/facebook/whatsapp :D
