Does the bluetooth receiver need to have aptx? Otherwise will have audio lag when watching videos... My desktop don't have Bluetooth transmitter also.

aptx also will lag.
You need aptx LL.
aptX Low Latency

both transmitter and receiver need to have aptX LL,
otherwise audio will lag.

This is the best Speaker Review YouTube Channel.
You can listen to the Speaker Sound Signature and decide which Speaker you like better.

Comparisons like this is only useful if the person already own one of the speakers and knew the sound signature intimately.
And the comparison only shows the relative difference between the speaker under comparison and not the real sound that is produced because the recording mic and playback speaker/iem/headphone would have severely modified the sound.:o

No choice liao.
This is the best a Review can do.
Better than someone just describing how good/bad the high/mid/low are and whether they would recommend it based on the price.

A trained subjective reviewer can actually be more accurate in this scenario...

Coming from a guy who once tried recording speakers, only to find out the recorded files sound the opposite of what the speakers sound IRL i.e. Real life speaker A is more xxxxxx than speaker B, but the recording shows speaker B is more xxxxxx than speaker A.

Hi bro,

https://shopee.sg/UGREEN-Original-3...-Audio-Adapter-with-Mic-i.64922680.1164253318

Does this mean it connect to PC via 3.5mm for like speakers and than supply power to it, than we can link it up to blue tooth speakers?

Yes that is correct.
But your bluetooth speaker/earbuds/receiver will need aptx LL as well for close to no lag audio.

if you don't mind lag just grab a normal usb bluetooth dongle for pc.
around $10.
Then what is the point of aptx if aptx has lag...

SBC = default codec lossy compression
aptx = almost CD quality
aptx LL = almost CD quality at 40ms lag, almost no lag
aptx HD = close to CD quality

For movies and gaming, use aptx LL
everything else aptx HD, a little lag no issue cos no video

Wait for Bluetooth 5.2 in 2021/2022
New LC3 Codec (Lots of hype, but actual performance unknown)

You're right, there is no point for the normal APTX.

In general, there is a *slight* reduction in latency in *most* situations.

However:

Contrary to popular belief of aptX sound quality, in some cases it can produce worse audio quality than SBC with a standard 328k bitrate.

SBC dynamically allocates quantization bits for frequency bands, acting on a «bottom-to-top» basis. If the whole bitrate was used for the lower and middle frequencies, the upper frequencies are «cut off» (silenced).
aptX quantizes frequency bands with the same number of bits constantly, which makes it a constant bitrate codec: 352 kbps for 44.1 kHz, 384 kbps for 48 kHz. It can't «transfer bits» to frequencies that need them most. Unlike SBC, aptX will not «cut» frequencies, but will add quantization noise to them, reducing the dynamic range of audio, and sometimes introducing crackles. SBC, on the contrary, «eats the details» — discards the quietest areas.
On average, compared to SBC 328k, aptX makes less distortion in music with a wide frequency range, but on music with a narrow frequency range and a wide dynamic range SBC 328k sometimes wins.

Let us consider a special case, a piano recording. Here's a spectrogram:
https://habr.com/en/post/456476/

Another review with spectrograms of various codecs:
http://www.sereneaudio.com/blog/how-good-is-bluetooth-audio-at-its-best

SBC is a definite win over APTX with simple content. Both have pretty funky impulse responses - SBC is pre-ringing, while APTX looks like some horrible LPF gone wrong with a huge undershoot.

So while the author's conclusion is factual, I cannot agree with this while, instead agreeing more with the author of the first link. Here's what the author of the second link has to say:

A few observations can be made here. The most obvious and redundant one is that MP3 only deals with the frequency content lower than 20kHz. In case of SBC, the content seems to be sometimes cut off even below 20kHz. It seems that unless certain amount of energy exists in higher frequencies, the content at those frequencies will be cut off by SBC. Visually looking at the results, it seems that aptX does a better job than SBC and 320kbps MP3 when it comes to real music.

The explanation and pros/cons of which have been mentioned by the first author.

Or basically the tl;dr between the two: SBC throws away higher frequencies first, while aptx adds noise. aptx's method gives it the latency advantage.

In before people with $3k speaker cables tell us how cheap this is. :s13:

Interestingly it seems to measure well according to... some measurements, but I remain skeptical.

But I won't hold my breathe for Amir to get his hands on one. :s13:

Re

For computer desktop use would a soundbar (short length type) be better than desktop speakers? How about RAZER products like their speakers and soundbar?

Any feedback? Thanks

Would Kanto YU2 with its subwoofer be the best speakers?
