hey guys,

gonna kick start my 4-room bto journey, very fresh and would like to seek your advice.

im looking for a fridge, budget pref <$1000, 2 door. saw this LG bottom freezer GB-B4059 but cost like $1.6k. would there be any suitable alternatives? as long as can last long, can le. also don't have to be bottom freezer, open to choices!

Search for Hitachi brand 3ticks. Google and u can find most at online site for about 500 to 800 depends on the size u want.

Hi guys, looking to purchase a bottom freezer fridge. Wanted to get a Hitachi model, and the 330l version seems too small. So was looking at the 470l model R-B570P7MS, but hardly see any reviews on it. Anyone can comment?

Alternatively, I’m also open to Panasonic/Mitsubishi also.. Saw a few people get this model NR-BX468XSS1, how’s the experience?

hey guys, i am comparing between LG & Hitachi now - I am just looking for a 2 door top freezer 400L+ one, about 700mm width, and some interesting features (eg Hitachi got inverter cooling or something).

found these few models:
LG GT-T3867PZ 393L
LG GT-T3867BM 393L (what's the diff between BM & PZ? BM is a little more ex)
LG GT-B4387PZ 438L

HITACHI R-V560P7MS 450L
HITACHI R-VG480P8MS (Glass) 407L
Hitachi R-V480P8MS 407L

Anyone using any of the above? kinda like LG design, though i haven't physically check it all out (by the way, anyone knows where i can go that has most range of LG & Hitachi fridge?)

I bought my LG GB-B5191PZ from Courts 2 years ago. BM and PZ is the colour, black mirror and platinum silver. So far, the fridge perform great, save energy and very quiet.

as long ur is this..

hi, does anyone know where to source for a set of door seal/gasket for Hitachi R-D6800X fridge? Found water droplets/condensation around the door frame since 2~3 months ago. Most likely the seals/gaskets are failing. Quite a waste to replace this 5yo ~$4600 Japan made fridge just because of defective seals/gaskets. Hitachi SG quoted >$700 for seals/gaskets replacement, which I think is too much. Thx in advanced!

Japanese brands?

What are your thoughts on Jap brands like Hitachi? The best denki guy was telling us it takes up the same space as angmoh brands but the sides are thinner so there's more storage space. PLUS more compartments for all the small small items that we need to keep.

BTW can I ask the new homeowners here which electricity retailer you're with?? Am considering Senoko Energy cos my friends say the rebates and benefits for customers are quite good.

Prefer the Japanese brands like Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Hitachi etc..

Same here. Family members (parent, sis, in-laws) been using Mitsubishi and serving them well.

My previous house Hitachi got repair once after 6-7 years due to our fault else should be quite lasting too. Bought another Hitachi for my new place.

anyone here use the samsung twincooling where either the freezer or fridge can be switch off to save energy.

the staff claim the energy is cut in half when either 1 is switch off. i highly doubt it as the compressor is still running

Anyone using it and either off either one, care to advise? thanks

Anyone owns a Hitachi R-VG450P3MS-1?

While cleaning the back of the fridge, I realised there’s a open water container at the back of the fridge. The water is quite filled up, I’m worried that this potentially breed mosquito.

On Hitachi website, the FAQ says:

Why is there water inside the container at the back/bottom side of the refrigerator?

The container at the back/bottom side of the refrigerator is called drain pan or evaporator pan. The water from defrosting process will be collected in it.You can leave the water untouched, as it will evaporate.
