hmm.... Maybe I am old liao, but I find your jeans abit too tight? To be fair, I used to wear APC jeans too, but as age grows, buibui till cannot wear skinny liao... :p

Feder sports.

Peninsula plaza or people’s park complex.

I am surprised you cannot find in Orchard gateway as there is a red wings store there and the shop besides the red wings store also sells red wings boots

hmm... I am a little surprised too, since 1907 isn't an exotic model...
Anyway, IMO its quite hard to recommend a size for leather boots. I will always recommend one to get their first pair at the shop directly. Seek the advices from the staff, they are very friendly and knowledgeable to share. (Is Han still with Red Wing? :D )
I remember going to OGW quite a few times to beo beckman 9011, but the smallest size Singapore carries is 7D. I wear 5.5E for 875, 6D for 8165 and 6106. The staff could have hardsell me blah blah can get insoles to fit, it will shrink etc etc, but they didn't. I rem the very last time I went to beo the 9011, one of the staff told me to wait because Beckman is coming out with a new series in smaller sizes, and indeed came flatbox series. So I am beo-ing 9062 now... :p haha
Yes, it may be a lot more affordable to get them online, and some will say can always try the sizes all they want at the physical shop then go online buy.:s22: Then the OGW and authorised retailers eat sai liao lor....

Red Wing Moc Toe 875 Review (After 1 Year)

Hello everyone,

First time writing a review here. I hope this review will help anyone who is looking to buy the Red Wing Moc Toe 875 boots.

*I have also published this Red Wing Moc Toe 875 Review on my blog with more details. The blog post will be kept up to date.

I bought my Mac Toe from the flagship store in town; put them through a rather rough year and here they are today. I wore them constantly through the year and only brushed it after a couple of wears. They took a beating but emerged victorious as you can see.

Sizing

As it is stated on their website, Red Wing boots are smaller than the average boot in size. Therefore, you will need to go down half a size or more when buying your Mac Toe.

My feet measure 8.5 on a Brannock device but a US8D Mac Toe was my perfect fit. To give you an idea, I wear a US8.5/ UK7.5/ EUR42 / 26.5cm Flyknit Nike sneakers.

Leather

Red_Wing_Moc_Toe_875_Front.jpg

Red Wing's Moc Toe 875 is made of full grain leather labeled Rough & Tough. Full grain leather is taken from the top layer of the animal's hide and therefore reputed to be the best in the market. It ages better and gives the leather a distinct look.

The boots aged in a unique way that makes them look much better after 1 year of wear as you can see in the photos, but you need to take constant care of your boots or otherwise they may dry rot and crack.

Break in

Red_Wing_Moc_Toe_875_Shoe_Tongue.jpg

Red Wing boots are typically constructed with real tough leather making them a bit harder to break in. I was able to break in my pair after a good month of regular wear. Yes, the initial wears were brutal on my feet, especially around the toe crease. I rubbed leather oil into the problem areas and this helped soften the leather considerably.

Sole

The Moc Toe's outer sole is a Traction Tred rubber sole. The inner soles are as thrifty as most Red Wing boots and with no shank. It has a cork midsole though and the Goodyear welt makes resoling much easier.

Summary

Red_Wing_Moc_Toe_875_Side.jpg

The boots give out a rugged look after 1 year of wear, which I think they look much better than brand new. However, you need to take constant care of your boots. I have seen many boots dry out and look like cracked soil.

Red Wing Moc Toe boots are my favorite pair of boots to wear with jeans. They gave me a near torturous experience while breaking them in. After a year of wear, they are so comfortable I could walk in them all day. I would recommend anyone on the fence about getting a pair.

Like to check which one do you all think its better and look nicer. The 875 or 1907. I'm torn between this 2.

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum but have been lurking around a bit in this thread.

Recently have also caught on the Red Wing craze. Previously, I was a Timberland boots fan until I learnt about RWs (I know I'm suaku and slow LOL).

I have recently purchased 6 Red Wing boots within a span of 2 months. I know its hardcore right? I have 2 moc toes, 1 Iron Ranger, 1 Beckman, 1 Chukka and a Blacksmith. Now eyeing the 875. I also whacked the Wolverine 1000 Miles but found that the stitching not as good quality as RW although the Chromexel leather is much softer during break in.

Glad to know that this thread is still alive.

I personally like the 875's orange colour. Patinas more nicely that 1907's copper rough and tough. Unless you like the rugged colour of the 1907. :)

Tell me about it bro. My 9014 is the hardest to break in, cuts left and right. I tried to manhandle the boots and oiling before putting them on. The 1000 Mile on the other hand is super soft.

I really can't settle on a favourite boot because they are all so nice. Really need to be a centipede to be able to break them all in.

What do you mean not as good quality? Any pics to compare?

Later i go home and take. Their finishing has some loose ends and thread here and there. Seemed like a rushed job.

Or maybe it's my particular boot.

You have the Wolverine's as well?

Same design but different materials, thats all. But I may suggest you check out 8875 if you can find it. After I got my 875 then I knew about 8875, kinda regret not researching more before hoot 875. Not saying 875 not good, but I prefer 8875 reddish brown.

Nice wear in. How long is this already? I wanted a pair of chukka but low budget at the point of time, so bought Clark's desert boots instead.
