sent to xiaomi service centre Funan ,had to factory reset phone . Had encounter with my Mi11 lite. was informed the fingerprint log in got issue...

hi all

im new to xiaomi and recently bought redmi note10 pro

my sim is tpg and when i insert my sim the phone can detect my sim as per normal but i cant call out or receive calls

is the tpg not compatible with the 10 pro or there some sim network settings i need to change/activate ?

In the end, self Factory reset the phone, and solved. Before reset, backup the phone onto the phone, but upon reset was unable to restore all data & apps. Only able to restore contacts from Google backup. What is the best way to backup restore prior Factory Reset?
Clear cache, stop security & find devices running under settings, using ADB all failed to work.
Cause of problem likely due to system/miui updates, not hardware.
So for similar (software) issue, consider Factory Reset. Thanks.

I am guessing. Your backup is to phone memory, not external memory like microsd card?
If you back up to phone, then you factory reset which wipes out everything, then the backup data also gone right?

is RN10P considered the most value bang for $300-ish pricing and the last best RN series midranger up till today albeit its a last yr model ?

been watching some youtube reviewers commenting that moving forward, due to chips shortage and inflation XM or other Tiong fones might go on a more-for-less strategy ie. like what they doing with RN11 series which sales basically dun picked up

waiting for RN12 series to be released and eager to see what it will offer for the price

Yes, it's definitely more worth it if you compare it to the RN11 series. Get it before they stop selling.

why is it more worth it.

I got RMN 9s and recently RMN10S. i feel RMN9S is better in terms of processing power . but the form factor is really good for 10S. very nice to hold. 11s is has to be terrible to be 2 gens down wards

Depends on your definition of "most value bang for $300-ish pricing"

Some Poco models have similar "value for money" proposition. E.g. Some redmi models rebadged as poco models, cheaper in Singapore and come with nfc

You may wish to do more research to see which model fits your usage requirements

Is tpg characteristic. For phones which do not support volte, can still make/receive calls using tpg simba voice app.

I'm interested to get a redmi note 10s from the upcoming shoppee sale, around $180. is this model reaching end of life soon, or still a viable buy? any reason to instead go for the poco m5s rebrand?

No reason unless you want to pay $100 more to support Xiaomi's declining revenue.

It is cheap because it is an old product that cannot sell and they probably ordered a bulk of that chipset at a very low price.

Used this model for 2 months already, very decent performance and smooth with 8gb ram, charge very fast, can watch YouTube 4K HDR videos, still can ask what for a $160 phone (can ask for NFC, the phone have NFC but they disabled it for sg)

I didn't know about the NFC hardware being available but disabled by software on the Note 10S, any possibility to enable it back?
