I didn't know about the NFC hardware being available but disabled by software on the Note 10S, any possibility to enable it back?

No idea how to do it, the model sold to us is M2101K7BG, supposed to be equipped with NFC but they did state is market dependent. Can't use NFC for this phone but I don't use it anyway. Got lots of other cheap phones with nfc

Cheap phones need what support, They claim to have 2 major android updates and 3 years of security updates. This model release Apr 21, still got about 1.5 years support. I got spare old mi max on android 7 and 2019 security update still working well.

I'm interested to get a redmi note 10s from the upcoming shoppee sale, around $180. is this model reaching end of life soon, or still a viable buy? any reason to instead go for the poco m5s rebrand?

Currently already on Android 12 which expected is the final Android upgrade, updates until April 2024.

Try Hard reset your phone.
I have the same problem and Xiaomi at Funan asked me to do so.

Go for redmi note 10s.. during sales 8/256 goes for less than $200

Redmi 10C has a bigger screen but lower resolution, if require larger screen then can go for that one. Other than that, Redmi Note 10S is the far superior phone.

Yes , mine also. Another issue is when click the button for front camera, it actually turns on the rear macro lens instead. Anyone else has this issue? Thanks.
