Just realized the aspect ratio of note 8 pro is 19.5:9 which means it's not really bigger than my Huawei mate 10 pro but just longer.. so technically when I watch shows it will be the same size.

Those watching Netflix on note 8 pro, the screen will be black at both sides?

Is the "XiaoMi Offical store Global" in shopee the offical local distributor store? Meaning if got issue can go to XiaoMi service center?
You can check the shopee link from Mi Singapore facebook.

not really that important unless your telco is m1, the other telcos have 2 other lte bands that china set rn8 can use while m1 only has 1. anyway, 4g coverage in sg is generally pretty good, and 3g is still adequate.

Yes, this mainly affects M1 (and Circles.Life) users.
In areas where there are patchy 4G coverage, the phone will fallback to 3G and VoLTE calls will also drop (M1).

I saw some stores Shipped from Overseas, yet they claims manufacturer warranty. Later, I realise, they will ship back to China for repairs !
Okay, then that's similar to Finer (Qoo10).
But who pays for postage back to China though.
Quite troublesome as well.

Yes, I also asked their support and they mention that can bring in to the local service centre if got issues as it is local warranty even though shipped in from China.

I read this from their website before. Someone bought a phone in Indonesia staying in Batman. He wants to come Singapore for warranty cause Jakarta is further. But Xiaomi says they do not provide warranty.

a lot of them are just straight up lying. you can call xiaomi to ask and they will say its not covered.
if you are not buying form official sellers, just assume that you have no warranty.

I did a little searching and found that this is the Xiaomi Cross-Border Official Store. Products are shipped from China but warrantied in local Xiaomi.

Ref to this XiaoMi Malaysia announcement. There was a question post regarding warranty and XM Malaysia replied local warranty. But can't find the announcement for Singapore. The store was set up 50 something days ago, but can't find the announcement.

I also went through the products sole on this shop. I find that there products sold are the same as in Singapore. I guess the reason is that if XM Sg does not sell them, then they won't repair them also. May be you all can do the same and verify.

But I don't see the point lor.... similar price and similar set of products...

u can check the label on the charger, usually will indicate output current and voltage. if non pro then likely to be 5v/2a, which is 10 watts.

China Redmi Note 8 M1908C3JE lacks LTE Band 7 (2600), which is used by the 3 major telcos.
Whereas Global Redmi Note 8 M1908C3JG (both export and local sets) have all the LTE bands (B3/B7/B8/B40) used here in SG.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 China (M1908C3JE)

Anyway, Redmi Note 8 4/64GB @ $175 (Finer) white color only if you intend to get CN set.

Good info. From here, there is no s/w problem with CN set and $175 is a good price for a very capable phone. Hope the Note8 with NFC will come in soon.

Yup, that's what was bundled in the box. Any VFM charger to recommend to maximise the charging speed supported by Note 8?

Is it worthwhile to have the shop predownload google play or it’s a easy thing to do on our end?

just search for any qc3 compatible charger on lazada or shopee. i use some no brand qc3 charger for only $10 :s22:

it is quite easy since it is basically just like sideloading apps normally, but setting up a bit troublesome. but up to whether u think the few extra dollars is worth your time.
