Fwah so long??

Yes is that long for MSI motherboard AM5 motherboards.
Depending on capacity if the higher capacity example 64GB will be even longer.
Not just that model B850 and X870 also the same.

Like what was shared above:

- CPU and RAM both LED a while than goes on. (Checking CPU)
If still CPU and RAM means motherboard gg.
- RAM (Checking RAM)
DDR4 takes a while, DDR5 up to 10 minutes depending on capacity.
If higher capactity of DDR5 like 64GB about 10 minutes or more.
- VGA light (Checking VGA/Graphic card/VGA connection)
Yes sometimems if monitor cable got issue can have this light.
- Boot light (Means everything OK)

w8-1b1.jpg

This is how the motherboard boot process is.
Only Gigabyte have the quickest startup around 2 minutes or so.

ok some bad news
couldnt POST haha
Fans are all running but strange thing is argb flicker 1x for less than 1sec and doesnt lights up after that

crucial ram 2x16gb
ct16g48c40u5 <--- was using these 2 sticks in my own rig until i upgraded to 2x32GB last yr Nov

what i have tried:
cmos reset (battery removal for 10mins)
left system running for 15mins (incase its extremely slow memory training)
tried all ram slots 1 by 1
unplugged gpu
unplugged all argb connections
plugged the 2x16gb into my own rig and my own rig couldnt POST too
tried with my own pair of DDR5 2x32gb into my dotter's PC also couldnt POST be it 1 stick or 2stick in all the slots
*gave me a scare when i plugged it back to my old rig and it couldnt POST lol
Tried 3 or 4 times on my own rig before it booted again, didnt want to touch my own parts after this lol*

Possible conclusion is my DDR5 2x16GB have kaput T_T
or PSU not enough wattage?
500W PSU

as im going for a short family trip with family for next 2days im out of time to try that and can only test with a higher PSU after im back~
meantime will be happy to receive input from anyone here~

if is ram gg, i will probly sell off the 7500F+B650M that i just bought and stick to the ryzen 2600

how come u build pc always cannot post de

i rmb u leh, this not first time

imo "mid tier gaming pc" not very descriptive, maybe can post some of the games you play and your expectations? because if expectations not too high i think <2k can settle.

something like that is 1675 from invaderpc, but only 16gb of ram. upgrade 32gb need 300 bucks which still drive it to nearly 2k. the e100 ssd is not that good because its qlc (low endurance) + no dram.

AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D 4.2GHz 8CORE/16THREAD
ASUS TUF GAMING B850M-PLUS WIFI7
THERMALRIGHT AQUA ELITE 240 BLACK V3 ARGB AIO
ADATA XPG 6000MHZ DDR5 RGB 16GB RAM
ASUS DUAL Radeon RX 9060XT 16G TWIN FAN
CRUCIAL E100 1TB 5000MB/s PCIe GEN4 NVMe M.2
ASUS PRIME 650B BLACK BRONZE PSU
DARKFLASH DS900 BLACK DUAL CHAMBER TG ATX CASE
3 X 120MM RGB FANS
HIGH-SPEED AX WIRELESS AND BT | WIFI 7* + BT 5.4*
WINDOWS 11 HOME UN-ACTIVATED

2215 from aftershock, this look like the better deal (better tlc ssd and gpu), but is above 2k. the mobo is lower tier mobo but should be ok for 7800x3d power consumption probably. yeah i underestimated today's market 😅

AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D Processor
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Windforce OC SFF 12GB (TRIPLE FAN 3X) | [Select from Gigabyte/Palit Models]
32GB Patriot SL Sig DDR5 6400MHz CL32 Low Latency (16x2)
1TB Kingbank KP260 Plus Gen4 SSD (R 7000 | W 6500)
Gigabyte B850M C WIFI7
ID Cooling SE 214 XT
850W Thermalright 80+ Gold (ATX3.1; PCIe5.1)

both build psu is unlisted on tier list, idk if good or not.

all these give you ballpark/estimate of "mid tier"

The biggest issue with this build will be the SSD do not get the E100 as it's not a Crucial SSD.
E100 uses Spectek SSD controller avoid at all cost.
The aftershock one will be worse, high end CPU but entry level motherboard.
Yours specs is not very balanced, high end CPU but RX 9600XT only?
Do you need Ryzen 7 5800X3D?

Gigabyte B840M EAGLE WIFI 6 + Ryzen 5 7500F $405
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 - $29
ADATA XPG LANCER 6000 - $699 *May not have
Gigabyte Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 16GB - $757
Lexar NM790 1TB - $239 *May not have
Tecware Neo M2 TG ARGB - $59
Silverstone ATTIS 650R - $69
Total: $2259

Current market is bad especially RAM prices.
Aftershock and Invader can offer cheaper is because of bulk prices.
You have to ask yourself what games you are playing and what resolution.

I comment about the Aftershock build Ryzen X3D cpu on a entry B850 motherboard.
Gigabyte B850M C is a basic B850 motherboard and not a retail model.
Retail model means you can't buy from shop.
There are a lot of such configuration out there whether the Gigabyte B850M can cope with Ryzen 7 7800x3d.
To make matter worse is Aftershock use their own custom bios and setting.
My recent experience with that Aftershock build isn't very good notice a few issues.
I advice the user to slowly upgrade like a better power supply than a better motherboard.

B850 is better than the B840

B840 = rebranded A620/A = repurposed B550 with no PBO

Not the mention the B840M EAGLE is a 5+2+2 VRM config VS 6+2+2 on the B850M C

And the B850M C is confirmed to be using 55A DrMOS while the B840M 55A DrMOS is just speculative.

So instead of B840 chipset boards, might as well go for the previous B650 boards

They're the same anyway

ASUS TUF GAMING B650EM-E WIFI / GIGABYTE B850M FORCE V2 + AMD Ryzen 7 7700 = $42X
VS
Gigabyte B840M EAGLE WIFI 6 + Ryzen 5 7500F $405

Dynacore/Invader staff spotted.
PS I didn't anyhow recommend, I factor in the total cost.
RAM pricing is very certain these days the person is asking for as cheap as possible.

If last year build a PC than can go for better specs since RAM are not so expensive.
That GIGABYTE B850M FORCE V2 only Aftershock and Dynacore sells is not a retail but SI model.
That is why is cheap since SI model means bulk purchase prices.

TS don't need Ryzen 7 7700 Ryzen 5 7500F will do fine.
Since you recommend that B850M force V2 to that user, just take the warranty is
through Tech Dynamic not CDL trading.
If go for next level will exceed TS budget.

Gigabyte B850M EAGLE WIFI 6 + Ryzen 5 7500F $477
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 - $29
ADATA XPG LANCER 6000 - $699 *May not have

Total: $2329

Not sure how much you know, you may think I don't know much about DIY just anyhow.

I know what models are retail what are SI models like that B850M force V2.
Anyway you can argue with me about I anyhow.
Ultimately that person have to check with the shop, see what's the total cost including the RAM.

https://www.cdltrdg.com/product/gigabyte-b840m-eagle-wifi6/

FYI I didn't quote you or fault you for recommending that MSI B650M to the TS.
You say is OK but not many users know that MSI memory training takes very long.
I recommend Gigabyte which you say no good now the TS got issue.

Did I anyhow? You think as if I am a noob in my field, you write to my company
demand my resignation since you think I anyhow.
You yourself also not aware which models are retail which are not.

What are the things need to take note like bootup etc.
How can I recommend a model that is not retail especially the warranty is through Tech Dynamic.

very very exciting this thread
Yes, i super agree. Jin exciting, but keep it in positive mood here. Everybody can learn something here.
Generally I prefer Gigabyte. I never know MSI memory learning takes long. but even though takes long, it should be one time thing right? once it detected no change, it will be fast, correct?

I m green camp but in this case i still recommand X3D with 9060XT compare to 7500F 5060ti at $2k+ range
