gskill 3000 cl15 are almost all sk hynix (and maybe some lousy binned samsung)

sk hynix mfr/afr commonly only reaches 3000. the best binned are sold as 3200 16-18-18. so realistically they'll only work at 3000/2933. at best you might get 3200 cl16 at higher voltages and timings, but don't count on it.

1. Wrong concept. It depends on your mobo BIOS whether it can accept wins 7 which i doubt so for B450 series.

2. I would go for the cheaper one?

B450 Gaming Plus and Tomahawk is essentially the same board. The only few things I'll consider between this 2 are:

1. Do I want RGB on the motherboard?
2. Do I want USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C on the motherboard?

If yes to any of the 2, go for Tomahawk.
If no, then Gaming Plus is the better buy.

Ya, USB Type C is the new Android heads, which are reversible like Apple's one.

Then get the Gaming Plus. B450 boards are not meant for hardcore oc. A mediocre oc should be fine but Ryzen 2600X don't have much OC headroom also lol.

Basically Microsoft sucks. I avoid windows like the plague whenever possible. All my computing is done under linux or freebsd

Very hard to switch to linux. Not worth the effort in most case. I gone as far as managing to use WINE for gaming before deciding the hassle isn't worth it especially since windows is free of charge anyway.

Games vs Productivity ? Which has more priority for you ?
I chose 2600 cos I play games more often than I perform productivity tasks.

Frostbite games love cores/threads BF4 used 9/16 threads while BFV used all 16

sadly i know these issue but i think more issue on 10....really...all the sudden restart and patch....and data gone...

im not saying windows 7 won't happen but win 10 interface is more for touch screen...and the only windows 10 i have is a touch screen pavillion x2

Go check out the benchmarks for your games. More games are now benefiting from 6 cores or more but most are generally still reliant on high clock speed/ipc

That's why Intel coffee lake i5 still perform better at games despite Ryzen having 6 cores/12 threads.

Same reason why I skipped the 1700 and 2700 series as they have more cores but lower base clock. If you plan to do heavy overclocking, then consider the X versions.
