Re: s note greeting. You need to get out of edit mode. Which is the first icon on the left. Tap it. Then it will save. Then proceed to click on the Facebook icon to upload onto the person's wall.

i switched from iphone to Note2 recently. I notice that reading email in Note2 is not as user friendly as in iphone. For e.g, in iphone, once u open an email, it will auto adjust and fit the whole screen. Note2 email doesn't do that and I have to scroll left and right to move around which is quite inconvenient.
Can someone tell me which setting i should change?

Just got myself two sets of Note2.

So if I purchase app under playstore under account "abc", can I use my other Note2 and use the same login and download the purchased app? So I only pay once to use it on both phone.

I notice that browsing through my gallery, the scrolling/ flicking from one photo to the next can take quite a while for the image to be fully rendered clearly. It's like flicking through 5-6 pics and the next few will take quite a while to process.

The other thing i notice is that this is especially bad when there are faces in the pictures and the face detection is at work. Is there a way to turn the face detection off during playback?

The photos are stored in your microsd card or built in memory? What class of microsd card u using? I guess browsing those stored in built in memory will not have lagging or rendering issue. More likely due to the formatting of the microsd card. As for the face detection i believe there's a way to remove that feature. I'm a newbie for android phone so need some time to explore the new os.

I am using Samsung Class 10 microSD card and I even set the default for all pictures and videos taken to be saved to memory card directly.

But I do no encounter slow rendering of the pictures. Even on my Note 1 .... I don't encounter that as well.

What is the Class speed of your microSD card?

Ok, i just learnt how to remove face tagging, once you in the photo, hit the soft menu button and off face tagging.

However, still doesnt solve my choppy browsing on gallery. I using external sd card 32gb class 10. Abit disappointed given the specs of the phone. My old phone flipping through pics much smoother than this.

I agree with you, I also encountered this problem.. a bit disappointed.. somehow I guess the OS is not optimized yet which leads to the lag.

All my pictures and videos are on my microSD card.

Scrolling through all the pictures and video is very fast ... no lag.

Maybe can try installing an app call "QuickPic" and see whether do you still experienced the lag.

Yes, using class 10 also doesnt solve the problem. Saw your reply on installing another viewer app but i think installing app is not a real solution but thank you.

I wonder if this issue is because of a software issue as a result of the S Pen quick preview function, cos lesser phones dun have this problem.

I am a iphone convert and am enjoying my Note2. I do have a couple of questions on phone backup.
For iphone, when I reset the phone, I can always use my iCloud to restore everything. Is there an equivalent for Galaxy note2? There is an option of "backup and reset" under "settings", but I am not sure where the info is backup to. For icloud, I can see my info on the net.
What is the use of Kies Air or Kies? Similar to itunes? but no backup purpose?

i added chinese, but it changed the kb entirely to chinese...

For Samsung stock keyboard, you can select more than 1 language. Then, when typing, you can easily switch languages by swiping horizontally on the spacebar. I personally prefer swiftkey for English and google pinyin for Chinese input.

Mine is class 10 as well and it's not really smooth. I notice if the photos are taken by the phone camera itself then there is not lag to browse the pictures (camera autosave into sd card) but if similar photos (8MP) taken using other normal cameras then I will experience lag.. strange..
