Hi all,

I have my LA32S81 LCT TV with white screen recently.

Opening up the case show that the panel is from CMO - Chi Mei Optics.

Upon query the web, I narrow down to possible T-CON board failure.

If anyone want to trash their LA32S81 TV, please let me know. Thanks.

Samsung no longer built or put Samsung panel into smaller than 40" screen TV as it is not cost effective. Only the higher end models still using Samsung very own LCD Panel. My earlier gen Samsung HD Ready LCD is still providing me top quality picture, and it is already into it's 5th year.

So far didn't pick up from this thread any premature death from plasma panels or brands like panasonic, toshiba. Anyone encounter similar with other brands.

Oh, no! Just 3 months after I boasted my samsung 32N71 "going strong" in this thread, it died today. Same problem as yours, sound and tuner are ok, no display.

Four and a half years of light use (Average less than 2 hours a day). About 2000 hours of total power-on time only, as opposite to the so called 60000 hours of panel life.

Will be getting a Japanese brand this time, no more korean sh!t for me.

My 32N71 died after 3+ years. The sound circuit is ok. Panel does not come up.

So seems that you cannot expect more than warranty period of these TVs nowadays.

In 3 years the technology would have advanced significantly anyway.

Gone are the days that TVs will last for 10 years.

My 40' samsung series 5 had been visited twice by tech during the first 2 years. 1 is motherboard faulty and the other is the power supply switch. I believe it won't last long. Compared to my 7 years old Philip pixel plus CRT, still doing fine without any problem. Costs me 3k though.

You may find those so call Japanese brand also use parts from Korea or China. Dont think your Samsung problem is due to panel. It may be those capacitor issue. Find someone who know soldering skill see if it helps.

SONY LCD 2 yrs kaput

my sony lcd tv just gone kaput after just 2yrs in service

advice to all future LCD / LED tv buyers you should ask minimum 5yrs warranty for yur tv coz found out world wide life span of LCD/LED tvs are less than 5yrs gone kaput due to poor quality electronic components used especially the PSU board unit.

Lesson learned and my next tv to be will more concerned abt the how many yrs warranty given. Not the brand :(

All my Sony products died after 1 or 2 yr , as if there is a timer to kill them after the warranty.

Samsung LA40M81BX problem - on/off many many times

This is happening to my TV now... I read on the internet that it is a common problem... probably due to blown capacitors on power panel.

Anyone here successfully repaired the TV at a low cost? I do not have solder and I tried to remove the back cover with no success depsite removing all screws.

Big problem with Samsung TV!!

I bought a Samsung LCD TV during the IT show about 2 years plus ago and recently the TV spoiled. I called Samsung quite a few time to repair my TV. They did came to repair when I called. The biggest problem now is that Samsung is still unable to fix my TV completely after 4 times of repair services. When they are done with the this part other parts will start to have problems and so on.

3 more months left before my TV's warranty expired and I am really quite worried what will happen after the warranty expired.

What should I do now? Is there any other better way to deal with this issue?:s11:

My Sharp LED spoilt... the sharp technician changed the whole mainboard on the spot for me... there is only 2 circuit boards in the TV... so unless it is the screen that is spoilt... i wonder what is so hard to fix it?

3 years warranty is standard , unless u buy the extended warranty. If Samsung can't fix the tv within this 3years period, then u need to pay for repair and see whether it is worth ?

I know there are only 2 main boards inside the TV however, they have change each of the board for 2 times and the problems still remain. I felt so disappointed with their repair services.

If both boards are changed and still problem... can only be the screen faulty... request them to change the screen lor...

I did told the technician to bring my TV back to Sasmsung to have a full check but he rejected. The technician told me that he has to attend to other customers and it's not possible for him to do that. Lol it looks like they are trying to drag this issue till my warranty expired.

Ehh back when my 40inch samsung LCD spoil right. I call them down Juz 1 mth b4 warranty end. And I dub even have the warranty card anymore. They check from their side the serial number. They came and say my tv parts no more. Cannot be repaired. So they say they will give me a cheque for the refund of the tv. But got depreciation. I bought the tv for 2499 and they refund me 2074. I only use the tv for 35mths. Super awesome lol.
