Haha but from the ratio, actually mature and non-mature no much difference. Still a lot of people fighting for it (e.g. Tengah). I also applied for mature near my parents-in-law because we didn't want to have a car and would like to be able to help them out should they need anything.

Yes I was quite surprised! My 9 applications consisted of 5 BTO and the last 4 SBF.

We even looked for resale after failing Nov'18's SBF (to the stage of giving the agent our cashier's order) but I think somewhere along in our lives, we unknowingly insulted Lady Luck or smth la, but this resale purchase failed too.

Made me super depressed for a while cos I really liked the unit.

So it’s a double edged sword! Might get you a number within the available flats, but if you get the last of the numbers, and you don’t want low floors or facing whatever direction or your feng shui master says cannot, high chance will be your 1st rejection.

Well, the scheme doesnt promise/state that the number would be right infront. Just get a better shot at being within the number of available units..

Aiya... There was never "original Singaporeans". We are always made up of new citizens all over the world isn't it? If you ask around, you'll realise your friend's grandma from China, his father from Malaysia, her mother from Indonesia, his grandpa from India, her husband from America.

I think me and my partner are truly Singaporeans but our parents came here from other South East Asian countries. So I feel sad when I see people discriminate "new citizens". Because we were all once new. After a few years, have a few children then will become "old citizens" ma. Must give chance.. heheh.

I would say born in SG from day one..Not conversion course..

Our parents time no need bto, walk in submit application and buy..

From Nov 2015 till now We're still relatively "young" (I'm 27 and my bf is 30), so it's not an urgent need for housing, just that it's delaying our marriage plans.

All our numbers were out of queue, 2 applications with no number at all. We were under the MCPS scheme for 5 out of 8 instances.

But to be fair, our backsides are super itchy la, we always applied for matured estates The locations we applied for are all near our parents, if not, at least a very accessible location as we do not have a car, and don't intend to have one.

Mine were 5 applications with no numbers and 1 with a number which was nv being called.

To be fair, i dun think is backside itchy for applying for matured estates, especially if it is near parents... To be realistic, you will need your parents' or in-laws' help should u plan to have kids in the near future...

You can't blame my parents and in laws for staying in the same estate right?

End of the day i really think that the ballot system discourages couples to settle down near parents if sway sway both sides stays in a mature estate... HDB only wants to push ppl to take up their unwanted/underdeveloped Punggol units, looking at the main bulk being at that area...

how old was the unit? old flats no value these days...

Their definition of getting a q number is = not gurantee you get a flat.

HDB issues up to 300% for numbers X available units.

Please don't be!!! It's just our **** luck, there are plenty of people who get it on their first try or less than 3 times de. My childhood friend is one example, getting Ubi Grove on her second try i think hahaha

Show flats only bad economy then have. Now is false scarcity first.

i thought the economy is bad as it is already...what more are they waiting for?

indian and prc can always return to their countries and take back their citizenships. spoke to a few of these guys and they said able to.

the worst is when they rent out their flats to Singaporeans who don't have a flat and can't stay with family or friends.

I did get queue numbers for 6 times, but all were outside the available units..

Wow I'd be depressed if I were you too. We're going to look at resale less than 30 years old. We don't plan to move or don't look at the flat as investment also. Purely wanting to build a family from there on. Will there be another SBF this year?

I've heard that for Malays and Indians, it is much easier to get a SBF.

Wondering how true..anyone knows of any Malay or Indians that got a SBF flat 1st try without any priority scheme?

By definition, I'm referring to those whom did not even serve national service and whole family got pink IC due to their jobs in Singapore...

Ok la... Singapore also not a very old country... Serving NS and 10 years ICT only takes like 12 years? I do respect new citizens(too old to serve ns) sending their PR turned citizen son to NS... I consider them brothers in arms...

My 1st and only bto ballot got me no.26 but of cos for a low demand area like cck.

My friend first attempt sobf got him no.1..4rm redhill/bukit merah area...
