Sharp Aquos phones

Very happy to see sharp making a comeback... Reminded me of the time I used 903SH back in poly days. Maybe will check out their mid ranger since the high end looks expensive. Also software support better be good too

I also used the Vodafone 903SH before, the camera was awesome during that time.

As for software support, it was mentioned on Sharp Singapore website, there will be up to 3 OS update and 5 years of security updates for Aquos R9 pro.

We are constantly expanding our pool of partners to have more retail outlets with demo units. Happy to report we are in the midst of installing demo units in some outlets in the West area of Singapore. As for partnership with local telcos, we should have some news in 2025 to share.

Can't speak for the future but I can confirm that all our current phones share the same or better hardware.

Please have microsd on your R flagships, and 3.5mm too.

I can see your demo units in some Challenger & Court outlets.

However, there are very limited online reviews of Sharp 2024 handsets (eg: R9, R9 Pro, R8 Pro, Sense 9 & Sense 8 ).
Any decent reviews are usually from Japan.
It will be good to send out review samples to some websites like HWZ or Gsmarena.
That will increase the public exposure to Sharp mobile phones.

R9, yes there are some reviews by TW reviewers.
R9 pro, didn't see any non JP review at the moment.

A green line just appeared on my xm12su sat morning... Is this a sign but it's still the SD8sG3, if I buy this phone I am going to use it at least 3 years, or 3 OS updates that sharp promise.....

Just take the plunge. This mobile phone's selling point is the large 1/0.98 inch (slightly more than 1-inch) sensor on the main camera. The telephoto camera sensor 1/1.56 inch is also quite large imo.

nope I am waiting for competing products and see the price before deciding. I have owned a lot of sharp phones prior, when they were "JDMs" I move back to R6 because I cannot stand the "Lightsaber" that appeaered on my 12S ultra screen suddenly on Sat. It's a Samsung AMOLED panel of the era where its common to have such faults lol. so this R6 is just a temp phone.

do u game alot? i read green line due to long exposure to heat. even my laptop got green line & it not even AMOLED, probably due age (10+ years)

My Xiaomi tablet which is 6 years alr also got a few black lines which is made of LCD screen & I game alot on it and it is overheating very easily.


Just surfing on Shoppee app alr cost my SD 8+ Gen 1 CN ROM with China brand OLED screen to shoot up to 38-40°c liao, 11 months then my 1st green line came out alr.

His 12S Ultra also using same processor as mine, based on Samsung made SD 8 Gen 1 structure. I suspect is also due to constant overheating. Not just due to it being Samsung Amoled/Oled panel so simply the sole reason for the infamous green lines. Whether the processor is make by Samsung or TSMC also plays a part I feel.

maybe recently... cos got new game... because I already repaired once due to bloated battery $50 (That one my fault cos i was charging at using camera like few days before) I am not going to spend another $188 for screen to use for 2-3 months then change phone(Both Mister mobile price so its consider lowest liao)

Just bought the R9 online., will receive it by Friday hopefully.

Interested to see the differences between R9 & Sense 9 in terms of photography
1) Newer Hexagon ISP on the R9, different image processing behavior
2) Maybe better lenses but the camera sensors seem to be the same (the Sense 9 & R9 camera housing is exactly the same size, though the flash LED may be different)
3) R9 can take photos in both JPG & RAW format at the same time.

also possibly panel electronics used should be able to withstand higher temperature ratings?
