I got accepted for the August intake for a double-degree in Business Admin and Psychology. Is anyone else going to be taking the same course? I did the International Baccalaureate in May this yr, which is like the A Levels, so I wanna know if I get exempted from core modules. Also, I wanna know what kinda GPA is required in order to transfer from here to the States, and like, the procedure and everything.

hi all, im thinking of doing the communications programme there too. well my family might be migrating to canada/usa so i thought i might as well get an american degree. im waiting for my army to end in september after which ill prob go for the Jan intake in 2011. well didnt know about the open house but thanks sapphiree

if it is 61k sgd, i rather topup abit more to do a 2years degree in australia university. recognition is way better than distance learning degree even though it doesnt has any honour.

I'm gunning for the BA in Psych, 61k also (before exemptions, which I'm not sure how much I'm entitled to), I'm interested in knowing how much more recognition you can get with a non-honours Australian BA compared to the one we can get with SUNY, because, as far as I was informed, we're getting the same cert as us going to the New York campus itself.

Also, how much more topup are you talking about when you say "a bit more"? There's still the part about accomodation, food, the airfare to Oz, I doubt I can secure a good 2 years of education in Aussieland with only $80k aye?

UB doesn't seem to offer much information about the course actually. It doesn't have an orientation camp unlike UOL right? And my friends who applied for UOL has already gone through things like time table scheduling whereas I have yet to receive any updates.. I hope it is not just me. D:

Truth is, this seemed to be the only full-time course that offered communications other than MDIS and SIM certainly has the better reputation somewhat. Is there anyone here who is already in the course?

Does any1 know if after 1-2years in UB's SIM Distance learning programme, transfer to a school in US is poosible. and wad's the expected result?

states have over 2600 uni and colleges. which 1 u want to transfer to?
some ppl at UB did their exchange in Iowa, Arizona State or at UB.
U don't need a 3.8+ to transfer to UB.
I think a fair 3.2 would do, which is easy to attain and go to UB. u have to check with UB transfer policy, if they accept students in their senior yr.
if U thinking of other Uni never plan to transfer in your junior yr as those credits typically never made it over esp its a better Uni.

Hi i am also entering in Aug for the biz and psy course. what i heard is that there will be an orientation on the 24 of August if i didnt rmb wrongly and they will inform more abt the timetable and stuff too. hopefully tyhe admission package will be here soon. its like paying thousands of bucks and no1 inform us anything.. feels abit screw up i guess

UCs? there are 10 campus, the campus such as UC-B/UCLA not even a gpa of 4.0 == guarantee admission, someone here was doing CC in CA and he has met alot of senior getting rejected by these Uni with perfect GPA. His GPA was ~3.8 iirc and he is going to USC. transferring from CC in California maybe easier and also mean U kinda ensure U get full transfer for those gen edu classes.

ppl transferring from CA CC to UC-Irvine with a GPA ~3.7 to read Econ/Biz.
UC-Santa Cruz or Riverside should have lower admission requirement, but if U choose to go there might as well go Uni like Uni of Florida, Ohio state etc. since their tuition fee is still high at over US$30k a yr!
with so much budget cuts and the state gov near bankruptcy, U'll find fees going up super fast. In state students got a 32% increase in fees, International students increase is like >10% I think. U'll see fees continue to climb.

Thanks for all the help. sincerely appreciate it. i also understand the situation in california as my sis is staying there as well. that's why i look at going into colleges in california instead. for UC's international students is about 30k is it as u mentioned? what abt USC? is it nearly like a 50k per year? i also heard abt going in from community college is easier geting into UC. looks like this is true?

I understand what u mean actually. but i tot of finishing 2yrs in singapore 1st might cut the living expenses cost. she did mention Cal state fullerton but doesnt attract me at all. though they are known for biz courses.

U mean SUNY buffalo is based on texas education system? i am not too sure abt this. pls enlighten me thanks =))

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. It's like we're still groping in the dark whereas everyone else is prepared with their timetables, modules and whatnot. Sighs. ): Ahh right, I remember something about the orientation, but it seemed rather last minute to me, considering it is just a few days before school actually starts. Guess I will just have to find out when the time comes. :/

U have to login though... SIM sent an email regarding your students' portal password and MyMail email account... maybe u can check with SIM about that...
