It seems not many people here take courses offered by this Uni... Any reason why the cost of the communications course offered at Buffalo differ so much as compared to UOL's Biz courses? And what are the chances of graduating at Buffalo, NY itself?

My guess one is a mainstream off campus course

One is directed tied to he uni offering the same degree and standard

How much of a difference will the marking scheme of UB differ from our UK education system??
How much more would i have to pay if i want to finish my final year in NY??

1. a simple compare of the coursework and course description will provide a good insight to the difference.

2. US Edu system, homework, project, class participation, exams maybe attendance all counts towards your final grades.

here is a example of a typical UB course syllabus. U can see ~every 10% drop is a grade drop. UB operate alittle different than the better Amercian Uni. a repeat at UB, the 2nd grade always replace the 1st grade even it is lower. Other American Uni it is typically the avg across all your credits.

3. if u wish to finish a final yr at UB. U just pay the international rate.
today it is ~US$30K, U need to include tuition fees, Uni facilities fee, insurance, and living expenses. tyically cost go up by ~5% a yr.

Employers seem to be more familiar with the UOL brand name than UB.

What do you mean by that? A degree is a degree, whether you get it from UB or UOL. A standard has been set and you had passed it.

I really like UB styles but still undecided, cant really justify the large diff in costs + the fact UOL is more well known.

That is why I also considering overseas.

Hi guys, i am currently in the ub program, taking biz admin. The GPA for this program have just risen starting from this sem, from 2.5 to 2.75.

I came from JC, and I've gotten waivers for up to $12000. Some of my frens who took similar mods and excel in them in 'A's will get more waivers, up to roughly $15000. It really depends on your subjects that you have taken, your grades and the course that you choose to take in UB.

From what my poly frens have told me, if you have taken similar dip. course in poly and in UB, you will get roughly half of the course fees waived off, or even more for some. You will get waivers from some of the core mods and some general education mods, humanities requirements, AACSB requirements and free electives waived off. So generally, those from poly will graduate much earlier than those coming from JC. Feel free to ask me any qns abt the ub program

You will get a general biz degree cert, with dip in whatever concentrations that you chose. You can do either single/double concentrations.

There is generally no difference btwn the aug and jan intake. Just depends on whether u want to graduate earlier or later. Of coz, if you join the jan intake, you will graduate earlier than the aug intake the same year, provided you do not repeat any mods, and not changing majors or changing to Double Degree.

you mean cutoofff point for poly dip is 2.75?
