I am on an old starhub plan.

So would it be worth considering if we sign SIMBA / Whizcomms 10Gbps + buy BE805 from Carousell?

IMHO no point to consider SIMBA 10Gbps now that Starhub 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 per month (with free HB710, dual 10G ports, triband BE18000) or M1 6Gbps plan new user offer at S$34.90 per month (with free Archer BE805, dual 10G ports and quad 1G ports, triband BE19000) are way better plans to go.

My reasoning of not using SIMBA --> lack of support so it is not good for average users, CGNAT without static IPv4 add-on so it is not good for power users.

Take note you need to get a 10G capable router to enjoy the higher bandwidth. Starhub/M1 already provide 10G capable rotuers with the above-mentioned plans. For SIMBA, you need to pay S$159 for a lower grade D-Link router (dual band BE7200) or S$369 for Amazon eero Max 7.

You may say I am biased but you can always check out the sticky thread to come out with your own conclusion.

Hi... Any gurus here manage to get IPv6 working via the simba D-Link BE7200 (DPN-BE7212GR) router?

I am able to get an IPv6 address (Whatismyip) when doing a direct connection from PC to the ONT but when connecting through the router, the status on the router shows 'connecting' but is unable to get an IPv6 address. I have enabled the the IPv6 on the router to 'DHCPv6' and 'PrefixDelegation'. The IPv4 and IPv6 are both enabled at the same time. The firewall setting on the router is also set to 'low' for troubleshooting purpose. IPv4 is working fine and internet usage is as normal.

Update on 17-Apr-2025: IPv6 is working well after a FW upgrade from v1.12 to v1.14 via the FOTA. However there seem to be intermittent issues on recognising the 10Gbps port on the router as it will disconnect on and off once in a few days.

I wasn't able to connect to a game server this morning. After some troubleshooting, it seems that the Simba connection is the issue as I was able to connect using mobile hotspot. Any ideas why is it so?

Previously was able to connect using the Simba fibre.
