That time the technician use his phone to scan the QR code in the email and the ont. So not sure u can install yrself.. Can email them.

Wifi 350/400 mbps

2 days ago using 5 year old TpLink EA1900 WiFi only like 200/250mbps

Any advice what else I can do to improve speed?

U try speedtest from GSL Singapore or digi KL... Likely can get 1.5 to 1.9gbps for wifi.

when using wifi to do test, it is also subjective to your device. When i do test with both Dell laptop and Macbook Air. Same distance and both connected to same AP with Wifi 6 connection. My Dell only can get 100plus mbps but my Macbook Air can get 200plus. My Dell laptop can only get 200plus is I just place my laptop next to my AP. My Samsung phone even worse not matter where i do the test, with wifi 6 i can only get 60plus mbps only.

For those who do speedtest, please do take note that by default the unit is Mbps but some might accidentally select MB/s. for MB/s you might find your result is much lower because Mbps = 8 * MB/s

I got asus tx-Ax6000 from taobao weeks ago.. Recieved few days ago.. Now u order prepare for delay.. Most shops in taobao already closed and in holiday mood. Price is abt 150 for Asus tx-Ax6000 or the xiaomi be7000. Xiaomi is wifi 7 router with 4 x 2.5g lan port but only Chinese interface. I go with Asus as I am more familiar with their interface. The local version AX6000 is selling at 300.

Is the asus tx-Ax6000 from taobao is English interface?

I tried mesh with my ac68u over lan.. Cause my room got layed with lan cables.. But I dun see any need as a single Tx-Ax6000 is very powerful to cover mine whole 5 room hdb.. The lowest corner I also can get 300plus mbps..

If u going to mesh with wifi the result might not be good.. Mine advice is get 1 pc only and try.. Good router positioning is important.

You may want to post the floor plan to see if single router is good enough or not. Placement is key. You need to indicate the location of the ONT and LAN ports in the rooms, as well as the intended placement of the main router and mesh node.

And as answered by Naketoes, usually you start with single router first to see if it is good enough or not, then you add the mesh node when necessary.

Sometimes you may have to put a router in the DB box to make use of the LAN ports in the roooms, and then you may need to have a mesh node if the DB box blocks WiFi badly.

If your room has no LAN ports, then it depends on whether it is possible to put the main router in a central location or not.
