I have Simba ONT Broadband Subscription. Currently running on a old spare router.

Simba does not come with router that one their monthly subscription is very low.
No point take isp bundle router mostly are lousy model and even they give you good model every month must add $3-$8( depend what you choose) for 2 years no point la just but own router.

Any subscribers here ever take on this plan with additional static IP address service?
If so, how much additional cost for static IP assignment ?

The 50sgd credit to Simba phone number, must it be my own Simba number or can I input my family member Simba phone number to receive the sgd 50 mobile credit?

Hi my M1 500Mb expiring in March. Paying about $30 every month.

Do I need to recontract? Will M1 charge me higher subscription if I don't recontract?

Thanks.
No.. Still same price... Just dun sign simba.

If anybody buying asus tx-Ax6000 (china version), I would like to join. Please PM me. Thank you.
add me in too pls if you find someone.

on other topics, i just got on to SIMBA and i have ran into a couple of issues already:
1. my dlink IP cam doesnt connect
2. my nokia router app cannot be reached
3. i am currently using a nokia beacon 1 router and the speed is abysmal. i had much better speed with starhub. tbf, simba does have its moments but not really when u need it.
4. i tried to use an airties 4960 router that i got from carousel. that doesnt work either. if anyone has managed to get this particular router to work with simba, do let me know.

Guys, we need to look forward.
I recall 10 years ago, we were still on 300mbps or 500mbps. Then, 1gbps plans were priced at premium level.
Doesn’t that mirror our current situation?

look forward and be optimistic

I’m currently on M1 500Mb plan - sufficient for my family needs (normal work and school stuff).

I’m tempted to get SIMBA $20 since it’s cheaper ($10/mth)

I know that I wont fully utilize the full 2Gbps with my current setup (TP Archer AX20 AX1800), but at l should achieve same speed as current M1 500Mbps but with lower price? I have no plan to upgrade my router, just want to pay cheaper :)

i dont need digital voice. Not gaming also

anybody with the same situation?

Just signed up. NLT activate on 11 Mar, ONT install on 12 March.
i didn't realised it's a 1yr contract, thought it's no contract like their mobile!!

Oh well, my VQ 1Gbps is expiring in Apr 2024. Let's see how this goes.
Either good or i'm out of pocket $340 (Fees + $240 for 1 yr)..
Then keep Simba as backup ISP then.

It should run fine on my Firewalla Gold and downstream Unifi setup.. don't have any 2.5G equipment yet.

Unfortunately SIMBA has no static IPv4 add-on now. Using CGNAT and no IPv6 for now.

This can pose challenge for people who want to use things like DDNS and VPN server on the home network.

If you need this type of features, then you do not want to go with SIMBA right now. Better to wait.

The other choice is Whizcomms, using ONR, aggregated 2.5Gbps (ONR LAN port is 1Gbps) so you do not need to upgrade the router. But there are disadvantages of ONRs as mentioned in other replies.

Same price -- S$21.80 per month with 9% GST. Take note when SIMBA says S$20 per month, it is before GST.

I am not recommending power users to go with either SIMBA or Whizcomms 2.5Gbps plan.

But for average users, you can go with either one as you may not care about either CGNAT (SIMBA) or ONR (Whizcomms). From that aspect, WC 2.5Gbps plan may have an advantage that it is more proven in the market and stable (using SingTel infrastructure).

Is Simba 2.5gbps stable as in wired download speed in speedtest, is it consistent, my current 1gbps speed is consistently at 939-950mbps, tempted to switch to simba 2.5, my current setup is able to support 2.5gbps, but worried about the stability.

1) no public internet IP. u might need some 3rd party solution
2) same, if your router app connect to your internet ip. its under a NAT now.
router shouldnt matter. previously 1G plan right? might wanna take note of local speedtest results...
